My grand parents were poor European peasants arriving in Canada by ship in the last 1800's with barely any possessions and of course not knowing a word of English.

Personal responsibility has always been a huge thing in our family.

Not being an American, I cannot comment on the racial issues there....since I believe little of what the media presents, and I haven't lived in that type of situation.

Agreed, the buzz in Baltimore is ridiculous. Lazy newscasters don’t know it, but someone's opinion of the news is not news.

I find it amazing that in the case of Baltimore and every other similar case recently people have the need to make it into a Republican/White vs. Democrat /Non-white dialogue. Not really a good move for Republicans though, as they might find themselves running out of demographics in the not so distant future.
