I suspect that like me are too ornery to allow anyone or anything to control you. My resistance passive, yours aggressive but it is independence none the less. However, we need to remember that this is not for everyone. If others are happy with their lives and choices, what concern is it to us? just think how boring your life would be if no one disagreed with you. On the other hand I hate those "spirited discussions" so much I would be perfectly content with never having to explain of defend myself.

Personally, I wouldn't let someone control me either, Maisie. I have to admit that I need to ponder what Spirit said. If someone has no issues with not being "allowed" to do something and it works in their marriage, is it fine? I don't know the answer to that. My gut instinct is that it's not fine because nobody should want to be controlled. However, there are couples that have domination and submission as part of their lifestyles and in such a case, I can see where it makes sense.

Good blog Maisie, thanks for it. Please, permit me to make the following remarks.
As you can read above, that senseless and ridiculous woman, who illusions to be "The Jack-of-all-trades" in the blog land, she must know that she is the "Master of NONE" on here!!. SEEMS SHE IS UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND THIS!!. She licked the opportunity on your blog to refer to "a woman who is known to have a limited English". This proves her lowness, her disgraceful jealousy and hate. But that person with her limited English had rightly described her and put her right place anyhow. This is what has really stung her so much.
As the proverb says: "THE DOGS BARK BUT THE CARAVAN GOES ON".
Please Maisie, kindly excuse me for having made my stand on here. I came on your blog to congratulate you but reading that delusional woman, I felt obliged to respond to it..
Thank you so much for your blog Maisie. The context is really meaningful.
I wish you a fine day.
Lisa.

Hi Maisie: I'm surprised that you can read her blogs because I am not allowed to. I have no idea what she may have meant when she said she is not 'allowed' to work, but I can't imagine any man controlling his wife to that extent, or any woman admitting to it. Maybe she meant her husband doesn't want her to work as he is retired himself and prefers to have company.
