Yes, kudos to these courageous women. As German journalist Jürgen Todenhöfer states (recently spent 10 days in Mosul, northern Iraq with ISIL fighters on being granted security guarantee (and honoured) by caliphate), terrorism has as much to do with Islam as r.a.p.e has to do with love.

Just to put this in context.

The explosion at the Imambargah mosque in Sikarphur, Sindh province just after Friday prayers, was part of the continued campaign by Sunni Muslim extremists (in this case allied to IS ) against the Shia Muslim people of Sindh province (and in many parts of Pakistan). This explosion killed 56 people and wounded many more. The protest was organised by the Sindh Joint Action Committee - an umbrella organisation consisting of workers groups, liberal parties and non government organisations in Pakistan.

The fact that it is women holding the banner is purely coincidental as the JAC is a mixed organisation. The men present were also JAC members or supporters so alpha your comment is particularly ignorant and insulting to a brave group of people of both sexes protesting against the sectarian terrorism of the IS and Al Qaeda groups against fellow Muslims, albeit a diferent branch of the religion.

    Quoting  :

Whilst I would agree that the terrorists in IS and Al Qaeda pose a distinct and abominable threat in certain areas of the world and have shown themselves capable of striking out beyond their normal areas of operation I would contest your conclusion that they are the greatest threat in the world today. They are characterised by their obduracy, intractability and the horrific nature of their barbarity but, in the final analysis IS and Al Qaeda have fewer than 50,000 fighters who are generally only partially trained and not well equipped for conventional warfare; certainly when compared to teh forces ranged against them.

In comparison to the threat posed by the Russian Federation hegemony in the Balkans and the satellite states which were once part of the USSR the threat of terrorist activity pails into insignificance. Vladimir Putin's 'Greater Russia' strategy has many of the hallmarks of the Lebensraum policy of Hitler's Germany in the 1930's and this threat carries with it the much greater danger that Russia still possesses a formidable nuclear arsenal.

When it comes to threats Putin has it over IS and Al Qaeda in a similar manner to the threat posed by a bear and terrier. One may bite your ankles but the other is capable of tearing you limb from limb.
