Hi Maisie: Very interesting blog and really makes you think. For me, when anyone starts talking about any religion, right away it makes me wonder about their intellect. Also I think I'm feeling envy, because somehow that person is fortunate enough to have the kind of unquestioning intellect that allows them to believe in gods, angels, the afterlife, every far fetched Bible story etc., but why don't I have that ability. Another thing I notice is that a lot of Christians seem a little pushy and many times don't seem to practise what's in the Bible, or even seem to know what's in the Bible.

Excellent information. Even from a non Christian perspective there should be no doubt that Jesus existed. The difference is what people choose to make of that fact. Most of the conflict is rally a matter of respect or lack there of for others interpretations of the facts.

As for Christians pushing their briefs on me - my experiences in recent years is that most are far more tolerant of differences than they used to be. In fact, here on SFF is the only place I have even had negative feed back about my personal or been preached at in years..

You are so correct that all of the holidays fall in a similar time frame, right down to something as mundane as the end / beginning of the calendar year. Becasue we live in a christian culture our observance falls on the Christian date but we can all take advantage of the time off / out to celebrate and observe in our own way. All send he same message - there is light and hope at the end of the tunnel. Something to be celebrated no matter what we choose to call it.

Hi Rich: Maybe 'unquestioning' is not the right word, but whatever kind of intellect believers have then you are very fortunate.
