Sticking strictly to your blog title Maisie I couldnt agree more, it always ends up in an angry name calling diatribe. The people who would like an ordinary debate dont even attmpt it any more. Thanks for that.

A I said more than once, debate is alive and well, just not here. As you said debating involves a process and parameters. Most here have never been exposed, understand it, nor have any interest in doing such. Many agendas are present in our blog community but debate is not one. You are correct in your observation that here debate means arguing, name calling, insults and expression of emotion rather than fact. Spiritwoman ^i^

massie.. This is not a debate site. We try to exchange ideas, something you're not very familiar with. Exchange is the key word Saying something, listening to something, understanding something, and saying something again.... Understanding is the key word there. Most importantly.......There needn't be winners an losers....Too many losers on this site makes no one a winner. For me this site has always been a personal exchange, I only accept the judge and jury of the person I'm speaking to, not the applause of my compatriots for my narrow-mindedness and retorts. I do not wish to debate you on the color of the sky. For each of us can see it differently, doesn't make the way we see it wrong. However If you choose to see the sky as gray...I will not argue with you, but I choose to ask you why.

massie, You may enjoy the debate, you think it is the purpose of this site and yourself. but others here don't agree. Accept that ........ I don't wish to debate you....Although as we have delved further into this I find I find that you do not accept alternative points of view. Your propensity to not accept another view makes the individual discussion or debate mute. You are playing to crowd, and I have been trying to play to you. The specifics you state are not untrue to you, but don't quite tell the whole story for me. I'm far more interested in the motivation and intent that causes you to not see nor choose to understand the whole truth. At first, I accepted you for the use of debate tactics, to make your point without giving credence to the other side , But this has gone way beyond debate tactics. Winning is your only acceptable result, and self realization or self truth doesn't matter. I think Washington has the same problem.
