 Ah!

Those brave Kurds!

How short memory is.

I'll bet few Americans remember, or were even aware, that the US betrayed the Kurds at least twice.

Once to keep Saddam happy, once to keep the Turks happy.

I ran into a Kurd at my gym recently, and asked him why the Kurds are cooperating with the US given past history.

His answer was that they are not naive, just very pragmatic. They know that the US, as most nations, can't be trusted to remain loyal forever. They will work with the US for as long as it benefits them.
