The Hunter and the Hunted Nature Quest The hunter is a blue-tailed bee-eater! The hunted is a dragonfly in the hunter's mouth! The hunter flies away with the dragonfly in its mouth (or beak or whatever). This slender bird also eats insects such as bees, wasps, and dragonflies while on flight. The photo credit goes to Rajib Raihan. |

Continuing the sequence, bee-eater nests may be raided by rats and snakes, and the adults are hunted by birds of prey such as the Levant sparrow hawk and owls...

A cousin of ours used to make us watch spiders luring the flies into his web. I didnt like it but watched. I always thought he was a very cruel cousin. We were only small kids.

In an animal rights group during a discussion on how inhuman it was to kill chickens, pigs, cattle someone posted, " It's terrible for these animals to be killed. People should just get their meat at the grocery store!" ~~ Maybe it was just a joke, but now soooo many people are not aware of what it takes to put food in a grocery store.... whether it's animal or vegetable.
