How High Will Flyovers Fly ?

Flyovers and Bypasses.

A considerable numbers of flyovers and bypasses have since been built in and around the city of Dhaka where I live now during last few years in a bid to find a solution to our city’s nagging traffic congestions.

However, the traffic congestions have now been shifted over to some of these flyovers from the ground as would appear from some of the photos uploaded on this blog page of mine.

Some of the overpasses, however, proved useful to the commuting citizens. I wish that these mega structures could achieve the objectives for which they were built and would not turn into burdens within years like those built in other countries!

The pictures of some of this flyovers and overpasses built in my city could be seen below.

I wouldn't like to live in a big city like this...

I went into a panic just looking at those pictures! I could imagine a stranger trying to figure out which lane to be in and how to get there...........
It also makes me think of what big cities here have done. They have made a large circular highway around the city to bypass any congestion in the heart of the city. Instead, the bypasses are so crowded that it is simpler to just go straight through the city instead of around it.

Maggie thanks for viewing the pictures and for your response. It is always nice to read from you here on the blog pages from time to time! It is really difficult to drive a car cheerfully in such a city! I do not drive now. Merry Christmas, Maggie

Mrs. Joe, I can understand your state of mind initially when you looked at the pictures of these flyovers. These flyovers will prove no go zones for those who would try to drive alone by them for the first time even though there are markings directing the drivers of the vehicles to use the right way to get there! Here also, people use inner city streets in order to avoid heavy traffic on the bypasses. Hope you are doing fine. Merry Christmas to you and to your hubby! Stay well and happy
