A Magnificent Black Rhinoceros----Killed But Not Defeated!

Just look at this magnificent animal! Does it not look strong and fabulously handsome?

I feel like calling it one of the legendary animal that was certainly sent to earth for some purpose!

However, they said that, it had no right to live any further as it has lost its capacity to breed. They also say that they select rhinos for the hunts are old ones and that pose a threat to younger rhinos,

May be it was true in this case too. May be, it was not! However, the fact remains that this magnificent and legendary one is no more alive! A rich hunter, traveling from across the vast Atlantic Ocean, armed with a high powered Rifle and a licence to kill the animal has since accomplished it after a three-day hunt through the bush with government officials on hand.

It has been reported that this particular African country has sold, since 2012, five licenses to kill individual rhinos, saying the money is used to fund conservation projects and anti-poaching protection. The only rhinos selected for the hunts are old ones and that pose a threat to younger rhinos.

The black rhinoceros is since dead. The final moments came on Monday, in an undisclosed location in northern part of the concerned African Country, the fearsome rhino bull came rushing toward the hunter like a brave one and died after being shot thrice from a very close range.

The old rhino bull is dead but not defeated.

I have no comments to offer here on the justifications shown for getting the rhino killed by a hunter excepting that, we humans can justify many unjustified things if they suit us.

Absolutely no reason to kill this old wild animal.... imho.

Humans are the only species that kill for 'sport', not food!

.......Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Like Mrsjoe I grew up with hunters so was used to hunting for our food. That was no worse than raising chickens, pigs or beef for food but I never could understand killing animals for sport.

Spiritwoman ^i^

Looklook MBN,

Your blog is very touchy concerning this beautiful Rhino. I can't set my eyes off it, while pondering why such nice creature had to be killed while it was in its own kingdom!!. The hunter who had shot it, must have not even a wooden heart but an iron one!!.

He did it as sport !?, what a disgustful sport !!. Was that rhino his own property, his patrimony, his heritage or birthright??. Was it even his own means of food??. He should have better shown his ability, his competence and pride in proving himself in any other sportive competitions OR just simply show his power against those killers of innocent people!!. There's no difference between them and him.

Thank you for this great blog Looklook, I appreciate so much your concern about this dreadful event. May those deaf, blind and unmindful ... pretenders, take conscious and wake up to prevent such atrocities. Thanks again MBN.
Stay well and I wish you all my best for the rest of this week.
Lisa.

Mrs.joe.
Read your comments with much interest. It does not matter whether you grew up in a hunting family or not as you have not done anything wrong by eating the game that was killed for food only. You will never understand this kind of killings as you have not probably seen anyone of your family to shoot such a magnificent animal for fun and or for sport by spending such a huge some of hard currency in a foreign land! I do not consider this type of people as hunters. The Government of the concerned African Country could have send this animal too a zoo even if it was an old one! Best Wishes. Have a nice week.

Agreed one hundred percent with your views Rocketship. Not all humans are like this but some having money and an urge to hunt for pleasure only. Have a wonderful week.

MLLD,LISA.
No amount of arguments can convince me that the cold-blooded killing of this beautiful Rhino was done for the safety of young Rhino bulls or for any other purpose including smooth future breeding! I could not even imagine that the hunter (?) could have a heart at all! He paid a huge amount of US Dollar to purchase the license to kill the Rhino only for pleasure! I also pity those persons who had sold the license to this Hunter (?). There were many ways at their disposal to keep the Bull alive for some more years either in the wild or in a Zoo.
Lisa, you have surely won over the hearts of many by posting your meaningful as well as forceful arguments against this heartless killing of a magnificent animal born free and roamed a certain part of Africa fearlessly until it was gunned down by a man from abroad who was protected by armed Government men! What a safe way to hunt in the wild!
Wish you best of everything. Have a wonderful and pleasant week. Take Care, Regards
