The Super Fruit---Some Facts.

It is summer time here in my country to be followed by Monsoon. The wait for the soft and juicy fleshed super summer fruit is over. Our mangoes have reached its full shape and the saffron colored ripe ones have since started to appear in the fruit markets along with the green-skinned varieties that are used for making chutneys! This year, the mango orchards are full and the owners are expecting a healthy return on their investments.

Mangoes may very well be the king of all fruits.

It is the national fruit of India, Pakistan, and the Philippines, and the national tree of Bangladesh.

Why mangoes are called super fruits? What makes a mango super? Why it is also considered as the king of all fruits?

The answer is simple. We all know that this particular fruit is packed with antioxidant, fiber, vitamins and other nutrients that prevents diseases, make us look young and also help us to live long!. Its detailed benefits, explained by the uploaded pictures of this super fruit, could be found here under. Some fun facts about mango can be seen on this page also.

However, I may repeat for those readers who have no time to view the Pictures, the benefits rendered by mangoes to one who eats a mango everyday! They fight cancer, alkalize the body, aid in weight loss, regulate diabetes, help digestion, clean your skin, and make the perfect snack.

Like other Bangladeshis, I have a mango tree planted in my garden of my city home.. It is a big one! I was delighted to see huge flowering this season. Unfortunately, an untimely hailstorm has dashed my hope about even small yields!
However, I am happy for the orchard owners who are expecting bumper crops!

As I can not cook, I always avoid reading a recipe that is published/ posted anywhere for obvious reason. Lulu, your comments have taken me back to my childhood when I used to see my mother prepare various salsas, almost everyday, from fresh mangoes plucked from the large Mango orchard of our village home during every summer. I can still watch her skinning freshly plucked green mangoes and cut them into Julian sizes to add with sweet water fishes for cooking a wonderful curry to be eaten with hot rice. You can try to grow a Mango tree by planting the seed of a ripe Mango during your summer time and see what happens! Thanks Lulu for your informative comments left on my blog which I appreciate. Have a wonderful Mango season!

Wonderful thing you have done so soon after reading the blog! I could never imagine that you would go to a shop and buy the mango to eat so soon ! Thanks mrs, joe. May I take the opportunity to suggest that you can slice a big mango, keeping the skin in tact, according to sizes you may need after washing it properly!
