Recovered from my daughter's 40th BD party yesterday. Didn't party hardy but put the whole thing on and I am not good at the level of organization she wanted. That's what I get for asking her what she wanted! It was a good demonstration of inflation. I did something almost identical about 10 years ago. This year's cost was about 3 times as much. I drove to NY City and back with a friend who was taking her granddaughter back home after a visit. Perfect weather, good views of the Freedom Tower and the bridges, traffic not too bad, and a little bit of time spent where my early roots were. The refurb of the NJ Turnpike is nothing short of amazing. But GAWD, I cannot imagine living there or in any city that densely populated. Up and back in one day suited me just fine.
