I suspect the most serious concern is relative to what threatens each individual the the most.

As both an outsider and onlooker ignorant of most things American, it can be difficult to form a reasonably clear picture of the gun control/firearms issue without accurate information to guide and therefore the need to separate fact from fiction/hearsay is critical. Could it be that prejudice, which can't be conquered with logic [thanks Skariff], is behind some of the obfuscation [yes, I do know its meaning]?

    Quoting  :

I stopped reading when I got to "it carries the misconception that gun control legislation is meant to stop all gun deaths in the United States. It doesn't."

That's bullshit. Gun control legislation is ALL ABOUT stopping gun deaths in the USA. The ONLY exception to that position is that gun grabbers STILL want government authorities to be able to kill us at will.

The anti-gun movement has YET to propose a single piece of legislative action that will stop the carnage. They think they can, but they can only re-direct it, or make even softer targets out of innocent people. (Eg: Sandyhook Elementary School). At best, the carnage will just change form and come from other weapons. (The Boston Bombers used pressure cookers.)

Pass such legislation, and just wait until YOUR views aren't politically correct and the powers that be disagrees with you. Then tell me how you feel.

GBU,

Gavin
