But is not life itself a miracle, an endless source of fascination? Could it be that some things we ask for aren't granted because it is part of God's 'plan' we dig deeper to find meaning within ourselves and in the process find 'God' and come to know the Kingdom does lie within? When we are earnest in our beseeching and our hearts are open, perhaps like a special key unlocking, physical science/laws as we perceive them can be manipulated, making the unthinkable a reality/tangible. We have done that in part already haven't we [e.g. sent man to moon]? I do believe there is potentially much more ahead. Is not faith born because of the manifestation of miracles? That we need to be more open to seeing/receiving these miracles in the ordinary as well as extraordinary? I have no answers either.

I think God has no problems of playing with any of His lesser laws of physics now and then, creation is His workshop, but would not break His Principles. I've believe most miracles happen in areas of extreme poverty, in missionary situations.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

    Quoting  :

I think God allows all that stuff to happen to expose hypocrisy. The majority are not stupid, they can see it clearly. As far as 'indulgences went that's why the protestant churches came into being, Luther saw the flaws. Doesnt mean God is bad, just means man is corruptible.
People are always drawn to sensationalism, a piece of the cross, the shroud of Turin etc, as soon as it's a 'God thing' sounding possible or plausable it sells. Problem is these things create is a distraction. The real issue is do we love God and do we love our neighbour? That's the gospel in a nutshell. Keeping it simple. Just focus on kindness to others, practical good Samaritan stuff. Foolish people will run after distractions, sin is complicated and will complicate and confuse to keep the real issue hidden.
The opposition will always try to destroy the church, corrupt a person at a high level and many years of good works by wonderful people are destroyed or tainted badly by the media and they are devastated. It's a been cyclic pattern through time. But their exposure is a good thing, God wont allow it to continue and will drag them down in disgrace. "Judgment begins at the house of God." He will deal with His own first.
When something good happens, it lasts a few years, others take over and it goes downhill. Schools and Hospitals (possibly Red Cross) started through the church or Christians, compassionate people helping others, then what happens? Cant even pray in some schools now.... As for the horror, I have no answers yet .... awaing some light on that ...... I just know we are supposed to love our neighbour, not blow them up.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

This reminds me of that Jim Carey movie Bruce Almighty where God has a website and people post their prayer requests and God decides which requests will be granted and which will be denied. Hilarious.

Folks differ about what God can and can't do. Personally I think He can do anything He wants any time He wants. That includes changing His mind about anything He's done in the past. It also includes His supreme right to lie to us if He wants to, or do any number of things that would be evil sins if we mere mortals did them.

And I think He can change His creation, or any characteristic if He wants to. (Eg: Maybe tomorrow He'll turn gravity off.)

JMHO.

GBU,

Gavin

As an agnostic my position is that I don't know.
