Just because Muslims believe that anyone posting a drawing of Mohammed, and apparently anyone viewing the drawing, should be killed, then too bad for Muslims. I don't think we should stop posting Mohammed cartoons or curtail any of our freedoms for them.

Muslim clerics are always on CNN saying that Islam is such a peaceful religion, but if they really feel that killing innocent people is wrong, then how about telling their parishioners NOT to obey that part of the Koran that says to kill people who draw a pic of Mohammed.

There can't be freedom without responsibility and the event organisers do need to accept their part in the incident; 'might' isn't necessarily right and the deliberate fanning of flames [of hatred] carries consequences. Thanks for your very well stated blog Skariff and my apologies as I appreciate my post essentially superfluous.

I suspect the intent was to goad, but that alone does not make it illegal, possibly just unwise.

Reminds me of a case some years ago when a gallery displayed a crucifix immersed in a container of urine.

Lots of Christians were outraged.

I was wondering about this prophet Mohammed and what the big objection Muslims have to anyone drawing a picture of him could possibly be. I just read a little from Quran verses about him and after reading about his life and his bizarre quotations I couldn't believe what I was reading. He sounds like a murdering women hating butcher and everything I read about him or from him was totally disgusting. OMG how could anyone follow those hateful teachings of such a horrible man? If I drew a picture of him he would have horns coming out of his head.

I haven't read the Quran but just read a few verses about Mohammed and some of the horrible things he did and said, and can't see why anyone would ever belong to a religion like that. The way he talked about women was shocking. Lots of awful things in the Bible too but at least they made Jesus sound like a nice person, but that Mohammed sounds just AWFUL. I'm drawing a pic. lol
