You are not alone!!!! Purely political, in my opinion.

Agreed. Sentencing him to prison might make Obama look bad.

I have a question, Jack. I remember that OJ was found innocent in the murder trial.... but later the victims families sued him for wrongful death or something like that.
So now, can the families of those men killed or crippled bring suit against the traitor in a similar manner?

O.J. Simpson was sued for wrongful death in a civil court trial after he had been pronounced innocent of murder. I have never heard of such a trial for cases like Bergdahl's.

I know that proving military and civilian leaders guilty of anything is a lost cause. Look at their total lack of guilt for spraying us with Agent Orange in Vietnam. To this day they will not even hint that Agent Orange might be related to the medical problems of many soldiers...myself included.

The big difference is that OJ has money but managed to evade giving the families any of it. I seriously doubt if Berdahl has any money. He is not getting off scot-free. There are reports that he had issues with mental health BEFORE he was sent to Afghanistan. Why is someone with mental health issues sent to a combat zone. It puts the entire unit in danger. Berdahl was a POW for almost five year, dealing with torture, starvation and being confined in a cage. Granted he got into that situation because of his own stupidity but still there is PTSD in addition to the mental health issues that the military put on ignore when they sent him to Afghanistan. He cannot get any kind of help or support because of the dishonorable discharge. According to the court records, there were no fatalities but there were soldiers with significant injuries. Bendahl's actions don't diminish that fact but getting that extra pound of flesh isn't going to change anything. Personally, I would advise him to get his azzzzzzz to Quaker House in Fayetteville, NC. He could get the help that he needs without the judgement.

Congrats for taking his side and, like Maggie, blaming his desertion on mental issues. Bullshit, Star. He is a coward.

It really doesn't matter what you and I think, the courts ruled the way they did and a dishonorable discharge is not a cake walk especially for someone who has PTSD because he was a prisoner of war for almost five years. He will get absolutely no support from Veteran's groups. My advise would be to get help from Quaker House in Fayetteville, NC. I would rather see him redeemed than thrown away.

Opera, Ellen, Democrats, Muslims, trolls, OJ Simpson, Jane Fonda, the View! Excuse me while I laugh my ass off.

Fossil here's a thought ... get some balls and make a comment on the Military Court and Judge that made this decision!
