Saviour in Black High Heels

In a suffering world of terrorism, wars, disease, violent weather, mass murders and dimishing regard for our fellow humans....I thought I would share this BEAUTIFUL little story. Lord knows we could all use some good news for a change!!!

This happened yesterday where I live, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

An 88 year old lady (white haired, lively and sharp as a whip) was going home from her medical appointment on her little mobile (medical) scooter. It was a gorgeous day and she was on her scooter for the first time this spring, enjoying the fresh air and the freedom. She had taken this route several times before, and always crossed the train tracks both ways. This time as she crossed the tracks, her scooter wheel got stuck on the tracks somehow, and flipped over, pinning her underneath. Right ON the tracks. She was unable to move herself off them. She began to yell and wave the best she could for help. It is a high traffic area and she hoped someone would see her. No one was stopping. She was off to the side of the road sort of, so chances are people just did not notice her right away. To her horrer, she looked up the track she was on and saw a train coming. She began to think that this is the way she will die. Suddenly a bus driver saw her plight and stopped. People got out and began running to her...and in the meantime...suddenly out of nowhere it seemed, there was a lovely woman in black high heels bending over her. The woman saw the train coming so close and knew she had only one chance to pull the elderly woman to safety. She grabbed her around the waist, pulled for all she was worth and fell off the track with the elderly lady in her arms. The train passed barely 4 inches away from the scooter lady's foot. The woman then made sure she was alright, and passed her over to all the other people who by now had gathered around, and she then quietly disappeared off the scene.

It took a day to find the lady who saved her. She phoned the radio stations to tell her story...and told the police...and witnesses told their stories...and finally they found the woman. A shy, unassuming lady who was in a car with her own elderly Mom (taking her to a doctor's appointment too.)

The story now has been blasting all over radio and television news and even became national news. Today...the scooter lady got her wish. She met the beautiful lady in black high heels that saved her life. The meeting was beautiful. They both cried. Reality has replaced some of the shock they are both in. The younger woman has a broken rib and a sore back. Her parting words to the scooter lady today were: "If my back gets worse than it is now, can I borrow your scooter?" They laughed, hugged and the very lucky, dear soul promised her she could. lol The scooter lady by the way is unharmed physically and cannot stop thanking all ..especially the beautiful lady in black high heels for her life.

So...there ya go! When we get to feeling down and out from all the bad news we continually hear these days, we have only to remember that there ARE still beautiful things happening too!

God bless!
