Oh BornBlessed, we have lost a lot of our social graces for sure!

I'm rather a dinosaur when it comes to technology. I do have a cell phone, but don't store numbers on it, and don't even turn it one unless I want to make a call. It doesn't have a camera, or texting feature, and of course none of those app things...LOL.

I still send real birthday cards, thank you cards, and thinking of you cards.

I do appreciate on-line messages to share my celebrations or my sorrows, but holding that piece of paper in my hands makes me feel so much more connected to that sender.
I always travel with pretty, blank note cards to thank those wonderful people I meet along the way who have worked so hard to make an event special.

I enjoy paging through the photo albums that chronicle the life of my family, and touching those sooo special ones. For me, the photos in my computer folders are nice, but.....some how, it's not the same for me.

Even thank you notes for wedding gifts arrive by email these days!

Such is life, and 'progress', I guess..... but, I don't have to like it!!!

I'm with Karin on this one. And BTW stored phone numbers on your cell phone are really never lost. I remember having difficulty with an old cell phone, took it into my local cell phone provider, bought a new one, had it programmed and for a small fee, they were able to retrieve the old phone numbers and transfer them into the new phone. So nothing was lost nor did I have to re-program numbers. Yes, I still send thank you notes the odd time, I do snail mail sympathy cards etc but the electronic age has been a Godsend for me for a long time!!!

As for friendly letters, that's what why I have the internet ....

How come you don't keep a written or printed copy of your e-mail addresses and your phone numbers? It's true I send e-mail letters now but and pay bills by automatic bank payment but it's simple to print out a list of addresses and phone numbers. And keep that old address book from way back when.

I also agree with Karin. Things change and the electronic age has enabled me to keep in close touch with my friends and family as well as manage my business from anywhere in the world. Although I have been "grounded" for the past few months from much distance travel I usually travel most of the time so it electronics have been a god send.
