Maisie and Her Flock of Parrots Are Not Constitutionalists

I read Maisie's blog (Ungrateful SOB ) and the comments attendant to it and was amazed that this group of conservatives took offense at the actions of SF Quarterback Colin Kaepernick when he sat through the National Anthem.

I found the disparity between what they said and have said in the past as remarkably hypocritical at best. These people, by and large, have said one of the greatest disagreements they have had with President Obama is what they have perceived as an erosion of civil liberties and failure to adhere to the US Constitution. Yet, in the case of Colin Kaepernick and his right to freedom of speech, their condemnation of his exercise of the constitutionally granted freedom, appears to be at odds with the civil liberties afforded Mr. Kaepernick and furthermore an obstruction of his constitutional freedom.

When an American exercises his freedom of speech: a freedom guaranteed under the US Constitution, their judgement of his exercise of a constitutional freedom suddenly has a prejudicial slant.

First of all, there is no criminal punishment afforded for those who fail to stand for the National Anthem and second there is a guaranteed freedom of freedom of speech. This freedom, according to Maisie and her gang of parrots, appears to be subject to their approval and not universally applied.

I wonder if Maisie's hue and cry would have existed if Mr. Kaepernick was not a person of color and if this person exercising his freedom of speech were not wealthy.

The stink of Maisie's blog smacks of racism and bigotry. It stinks of hyprocrisy that knows no bounds.

Hi Don: Sorry if this is off topic but I replied to another blog about this topic and Ranger replied to advise everyone that I was black?? These blogs have been taken over by Repubs who take every opportunity imaginable to drive all the liberals away. Where is Leafie by the way? Haven't seen him here for awhile and hope the Repubs didn't insult him away permanently this time.
