......Why does the Main Stream Media continually give Senator Obama a pass on all his shortcomings? They did it in the primaries especially when Hillary brought his deficiencies to light. They branded her husband and her as racist and made her look desperate. A primary that clearly should have been Senator Clinton's was given to Senator Obama on the backs of the super delegates instead of the peoples vote...........Now its seems as though Senator Obama has 2 organizations in his corner. The Media and the DNC. Any criticism directed to him is considered a distraction, irrelevant or racist. How can his character, judgment and voting records be a distraction? Well what worked in the primaries will work in the general election. Can you imagine for one millisecond if John McCain had launched his political campaign in the home of Eric Rudolph? You remember, he's the guy who bombed those Abortion clinics. And then sat in weekly services of the KKK for 20 years? I cannot comprehend the Main Steam Media overlooking them like they have Senator Obama. Especially when he is not forthcoming in his past relationships.........His only real claim to fame is that he opposed the Iraq war, and would not have voted for it. Well thats his word and that word is kinda shaky. His voting record as a US Senator shows he voted 97% of the time with his party. and he expects everyone to believe when the 2002 vote in the Senate giving the President authority, he would have gone against his party? Perhaps the next time he makes that claim he should insert the word maybe.........I believe the Main Stream Media is in his tank because all those liberal journalist are salivating over the idea that the historical implication of an African-American in the White House is far more important than Character, Judgment and voting records...... ......please no more comments about the 8 years of the failed policies of the Bush Administration, now thats a distraction and a nauseating one at that...... what a great thing it was to be a U S Marine... To be totally honest here 60min, I wasn't all that fond of Obama at first, I preferred Hillary, so I actually took a long hard look at McCain because my hubby is Republican. I did my homework, I read everything I could get my hands on about both of them, I watched their body language, I listened to the words they used, and at the end of the day, there was no contest. In addition Obama chose a worthy man as VP, while McCain's choice for VP is deplorable. McCain may have been a war hero and a half decent senator but he isn't Presidential material, the man comes up short in the character department and on top of that he's too damn old. He would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS get my vote (if I had one - which I don't) - the best MAN is Obama. So give it up 60min - you can put your own spin on everything said in the media, but when it comes to the bottom line, Obama is the better man and the American public know it - I watch the polls too! isn't it perfectly obvious,,it's a ratings war? I mean who isn't turning the left wing tv stations on? its all about revenue.... but you have to admit,,,McNo has been a real disappointment as of late.....running on the war instead of issues at home was a real stupid mistake,,along with nothing but lobbyists on his staff? Quite frankly the only republican that really made out was Huckabee,,,he has his own tv spot on fox now...

60min, contrary to your friend Phoenix, I read everything, the good, the bad and the ugly about ALL the candidates and came to my own conclusions. I'm an independent thinker, I can see the broader picture, I've never been programmed by the military to think within the narrowest of perimeters. As for Joe Biden, I've been watching him for 20 years and he's no joke. I think you've both been listening to Fox news too much. Happiness is where we find it, but rarely where we seek it. J. 60min, I want to clarify a couple of things before leaving this completely. #1 - I meant 'parameters' not 'perimeters'... I was half asleep; and #2 - I in no way meant to insult the good men and women serving in the military all over the world. They are all heros in my eyes because they do what I could and would not do. However, there are military men and women who haven't seen a uniform in a number of decades but who just can't seem to adjust to civilian life. The uniform is still there, invisible but still constricting their view of the world and the people in it. Before you jump all over me and tell me how wrong I am, I know what I'm talking about... Richard...you know I agree with you. Fox news last night reported some very ugly things on Obama and it got so scary I had to turn the TV off. Plus I got sick of hearing his name. Can you figure out why some of the people think that he would be great in the White House when you and I know he doesn't have the experience or education to walk into such a high ranking position? Tunnel vision sure is taking a toll here in our country. Guess we can't expect people to understand that he is no one special with no special intelligence or experience that his plan is going to work, yet everyone idea's in the past haven't...what a laugh. I'm looking to the future and it's out of sight, only in the end shall I take flight.

Sandy thats OK no insult was taken by me I believe most Military members are quite conservative and for good reason. Just like most activist are liberal.....Also most Americans are amazed at those from other countries that are so involved/knowledgable with American politics. I was in South Africa during the 2004 Presidential election. It was in the news all the time and was what everyone was talking about. Granted that Obama doesn't have the experience that John McCain does, but McCain had my vote and I am a democrat at heart, but I will vote for whom I feel will do the best job for the country, but McCain has lost my vote ...and if you want to say someone is guilty by association then you better go back to the early 80's and look at who McCain was associating with, this was something the news media found ... Is Obama the best thing going right now, only time tells , I think that we have had the worst of it the last 8 years and if all that has happened this last week doesn't prove that I really don't know what would .. so talk your talk, but new blood needs to be put in the White House and in the other branches also, we need for the American people to truly have our voice in our government, not special interest and the big cats ... I'm really sorry that the talk of the 8 years of failed Bush policies is a distraction and nauseates you. It kind of nauseates me also, but it is not a distraction. In fact, it is a huge part of how this country has arrived at where we are today. Lest we not forget, while focused on the global economic issues, that we still have our brave men and women in Iraq, we still suffer losses, and if and when our military gets to come home, it will be to a place where jobs are scarce, crime is on the rise, prices are high, and owning a home is beyond their reach. Yes, I'm nauseated too.
