......Canada's courts have rejected Jeremy Hinzman and Brandon Hughey's appeal for asylum in Canada and both will be returned to face desertion charges from the United States Army. Both men fled to Canada in 2004. This is bad news for the handful of other military deserters that have sought asylum and are in Canada now. Lets face it they chose to enlist by their own free will and they chose to desert on their own free will. Now they must answer for their actions. If convicted they will face a reductionn in rank, a dishonorable/bad conduct discharge and Jail time......The radical anti-war group Safe Haven who openly supports and encourages military deserters are very disappointed. May I sugget to them that perhaps instead of sending future deserters to Canada try Iran or Cuba they might have better luck.... what a great thing it was to be a U S Marine... 60minman So how is that beautiful wife of yours? Have you been giving her more attention??? Instead of yelling at people here. I'm looking to the future and it's out of sight, only in the end shall I take flight.
