"Shoeless" Joe............Its Time also........

.....My previous blog I supported the idea that it was time for Pete Rose to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY. Well now I am going a step further. Lets get "Shoeless" Joe Jackson enshrined for it is way past time for him. He was one of the most prolific hitters in the game. His rookie season he batted .408 probably a record that will stand forever. In his 9 full seasons he never batted less than .308. His lifetime batting average of .356 is 3rd highest in baseball history. The "sin" that Joe Jackson did was to be "accused" of taking a bribe in the 1919 world series to insure the other team prevailed. Well the other team did prevail and even if he had taken a bribe the persons doing the bribing sure didn't get their moneys worth because "Shoeless" Joe batted .375 and fielded his position flawlessly. Although he was acquitted by a judge Baseball Commissioner Landis decided to impose a lifetime ban on Joe anyway.........Joe you were an ol Country boy who just wanted to play the game. Baseball was honored by your presence and its time for baseball to honor you and induct you into the Hall af Fame so you can take your place among the best. Because you truly were..........

....Wouldnt it be grand to have a car that runs on water. Oh yeah? what if we have a drought?

Commissioner Kennesaw Mountain Landis was a racist and a bigot. He was a less than adequate judge and was going to be impeached had he not resigned. Many of Landis' decisions were over turned on appeal.

Joe Jackson was an illiterate that didn't know what was happening. He was acquitted as were the other 7 in the scandal. However, Landis let Ty Cobb and Tris Speaker off after it was discovered that they had bet on baseball.

Joe Jacksojn should be in the hall of fame based upon the fact he was not convicted and based upon his statistics. Pete Rose should be in based upon what he did on the field not in a casino.

Down through the years there have been many injustices not the least of which was Jim Thorpe.
