Border Patrol Closing - Not Political??

CLOSINGS:

On the front page of the (Sub) Standard Times this morning was a story regarding the closing of Border Patrol Stations all of which are so called "Interior Stations".

Now here is a list of the stations being tabbed for closing:

Riverside, CA
Billings, MT
Twin Falls, ID
Abilene, TX
San Angelo, TX
Dallas, TX
San Antonio, TX
Lubbock, TX
Amarillo, TX

Now perhaps I am wr - - -....... mista - - -...... in err - - ....... a bit confused, BUT it appears to me that the only state with multiple closings is Texas. Now, just because Texas is overwhelmingly a Red (Republican) State, please do not think that this might have any bearing on the decision of the Obama Administration to close SIX BORDER PATROL STATIONS in a BORDER STATE.

Let me see now, I believe that Albuquerque, in New Mexico, is located further from the Mexican Border than are Abilene, San Antonio, San Angelo, Dallas, and Lubbock. And please, please, please do not get the idea that New Mexico being a Blue (Democrat voting) State could possibly have any bearing on this well thought out decision.

Don't misunderstand what I am saying. I do not believe that the Border Patrol Stations in New Mexico should be closed. I absolutely do not. But neither do I believe that the closing of these Texas Border Patrol Stations is called for.

Of course we will never hear the real reason for the closings. The Obama Administration is trying to make us believe that it is being done to SAVE MONEY. Really? I will wager that almost any one of us could find spending cuts which would not have any negative effect on the safety of our country like cutting back on Border Security.

I know that some are saying that none of these cities is located on the Mexican Border. But please think of this: Not all illegal entries or illegal substances being smuggled into our country are stopped at the Mexican Border. In fact many seizures are made further into our country. I can personally remember law enforcement agencies in the Southeast corner of New Mexico calling for assistance regarding air equipment and the closest location for Border Patrol helicopters was San Angelo, Texas.

I am sure that the denials would be forthcoming but I found it rather strange that SIX out of the NINE closings were in the State of Texas.

Then, perhaps the world's most articulate and intelligent human might not be fully aware of the border problems experienced by the entire State of Texas........ Then again, maybe he does.

OMG - OBAMA MUST GO!!!

Wait...wait...wait...you were all in favor of a smaller...less intrusive government...especially one that tightened it's belt and made do. So...when the belt tightening comes and it happens to gore your favorite ox..what? You no longer favor smaller government??

Just because you have silenced a man does not mean you have changed his mind.

There are so many things that could be closed or even changed.

18 government agencies hand out food stamps - food stamps went from $17 billion a year to $87 billion last year - wonder what the fraud is in there.

16,000 new IRS agents just to monitor the Obamcare care mandate.

The list is endless, but obama will not even propose a budget.

I agree with boogie, all along the borders of the US should have missile bases that would sure cut down on the traffic along the border and with the drones they can spoiled very easy.
