Is the US stabbing the Kurds in the back again?

Turkey has recently allowed the US to launch air strikes against ISIS from Turkey.

Turkey is also hitting Kurd positions in Iraq.

The suspicion exists among Kurds and other observers of the area that while the US might not have told the Turks to hit the Kurds, it is certainly not objecting, and may even have given a nod and a wink.

The US has betrayed Kurds in the past.

I met my first Kurd a couple of months ago in Edmonton.

I asked him why Kurds are so friendly with the US given past betrayals.

His response was that they are pragmatists.

They remember the past betrayals, but are willing to put those aside so long as the US is useful to their cause by supplying arms and other goodies.

Very interesting, but what has this to do with the topic here?

You aren't trying to dodge the issue, are you?

Not really.

Isn't he just doing what previous administrations have done?
