Since I retired, I've been spending the summers in western Ontario, Canada and wintering in the mild southern Okanagan Valley in British Columbia.

Until now, I've kept my home in Ontario and just rented in B.C.,but I've recently sold up here.

At the moment, my plan is to rent in Ontario, and continue my winter rental in British Columbia. If that doesn't work out I may just move to B.C. full time........ I'll see how it goes.

Since I retired I have stayed put. Then again, I live in a place combining sea and mountains, towns going back to ancient Greece and Rome and a temperate climate. We have numerous activities for older people so can keep busy most of the time. Good luck with your search for a new home.

I think you will like northern Arizona. Give it a try so you won't always wonder. Stay awhile! It is beautiful!

Retirement - hummmm haven't done that one yet. I left one job and after a year or so of travel began creating stuff . I started selling last year, not much but I am gearing up to do more. At first I moved in with a BF in one of the local higher end beach cities in West LA, then returned to my home north of LA. Spent the better part of a year in Puerto Vallarta, then back to home base. Finally I moved out here to the rural canyon community about 70 miles north of LA. I still have a house in town which has been turned into a NPO residence facility (talk about not retiring). I maintain a large travel trailer on the second lot at my house in town just in case......... The cool thing about the RV is that it can be moved some where's else if I want a change.

My ideal situation? In my current kind of environment - rural but near to a larger city living in an old barn, fire station, church or similar building as A loft type live / work facility. That probably won't happen but I can dream.

Hi Doug: Like Rosie said, until I retired I lived in Toronto and it's a great city with so much to do and see, but you have to have a lot of money coming in because it's also very expensive and way too many people and cars for me. I was renting a one bedroom apartment there for $1,200. a month plus $250. just to park my car. So when I retired I moved about 100 miles away to a smaller city near Niagara Falls.
