A Sad day at Trinity Farm......

My very best girlfriend in the world, Becky lives in Washington state...in a very small sleepy little town....her , Lanessa and -in-law, Jason live right down the road....they have a small farm that they have named Trinity Farm as they are very strong Christians....

Lanessa's mare, Meranda has been expecting...a miracle prayed for and a family affair waiting for the big day....finally, Meranda went into labor and gave birth to a beautiful bouncing boy last night at about 9:30 pm....within a few hours it was apparent that Meranda was having some problems delivering the afterbirth....the vet was called and as they were trying to help her with this problem her uterus ruptured and she bled to death......there was nothing that could be done for her..... the family is devastated

Becky said that even while she was dying...Meranda was calling to her foal...it breaks my heart to think of all the pain the family is going thru right now.... thankfully Lanessa was able to capture the following photo of Meranda with her new baby shortly after the birth....

Extremely unfortunate - but as I say this shall pass too. I endorse Lothringia's view regarding the surrogate mother.

Awwwwwww pink...what a beautiful photo. I'm so glad they took it. My heart is saddened at their loss too. I hope the raising of the foal will help them heal.

Hugs...
