My Laugh For The Day

I am in the process of financing my family’s home (pool place) with my sister’s BF. Long story but it boils down to the fact that I have the credit and resources to qualify for the kind of loan we need, am a relative so can use my share or “gift equity” for the down payment. Her BF is in the process of building his credit and since he is not a relative could not use the “gift equity”. We were approved within an hour so somethings do go well. We were referred to this particular financial organization by one of the BF’s coworkers. Nothing like networking for good results. I tried to accomplish this via the mortgage company I have for my house in town but got nowhere with them. After a couple of weeks of constant questioning and always needing some additional things etc. I gave up. In retrospect I think they just wanted to disqualify me for the low interest rate they advertised.

Now for the funny part. My sis and her BF are about 20 years younger than I am. The mortgage guy assumed he and I were boyfriend and girlfriend because we are buying a house together. I had ben prepped ahead of time not to volunteer all of the details or extraneous information and to just answer the factual questions he asked. My relationship to the “tenant in common” as the technical term calls it, was not any part of the information needed. We’re still laughing about how he is probably wondering if sis’s BF has a sugar mama or if I have a young boy toy.

Which do you think it is?

Just "presuming" does not always mean it is correct

I did chuckle reading this.
