Dumber Than A Chicken

Last week I wrote a blog about the misogynist rooster my drug home. It attacks females and has been relegated to the empty second lot of the property where we keep “work project” vehicles, my trailer, a boat and a couple of trailers for hauling. I did say the rooster can stay until my finds him a good home which he assures me will be in a week or so. The critter is spared from the soup for now as long as he stays his distance. If he attacked everyone equally I would consider keeping him as a "yard dog"

Today I had to go out and check on him so I armed myself with a very large flat shovel. It looked and felt like it would be large and heavy enough to launch the rooster into outer space. I rounded the corner of my RV and there was one of my resident’s homeless drug addict who has been banned from the property under threat of arrest if he continues to trespass all hunkered down working on his bike. I have to admit that I lost it but the attack was only intensely verbal (and yes, I can cuss like a truck driver). took off as did the rooster. Seems neither wanted to deal with a crazy old woman armed with a large shovel. The has seen me work so he knows I am quite capable of giving it a good swing.

The rooster? Seems he picks up on energy vibes very well. When I go through the gate into the back lot he stays out of my way. Hopefully he will remember that this this old hen has established herself as head of the pecking order.

The ? This is not the first time I have chased him off so I have less confidence that the lesson will stick. I actually think the rooster is smarter.

When the matriarch raises her voice, EVERYBODY pays attention........ even a rooster! LOL.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

So true. It has always been that way with me becasue I seldom raise my voice in anger. It takes a lot but when I finally "blow" it's like a volcano.

Chicken hawk? I'm not even sure we have any her, although there are a number of small hawks. We have several rally large hawks, vultures and the California Condor, an extremely ugly fellow about the size of a domesticated turkey.

Thank you. I'll give it a try. A squirt bottle always worked on the house cats when they got out of line.

I'll bet he was. I remember a neighbor having a couple of geese that were so vicious visitors waited in the car until the geese were penned up.

Hahaha, I hope this will be the last time you have to chase the kid off the property, lol, for all he knows, the shovel was intended for him. I don't know why I am sitting here laughing so hard at this, I was just picturing the whole scene in my head as I was reading your blog.
