Having worked in an estrogen dominated occupation and grown up in a matriarchal family I never thought of it on gender terms. I never saw it in political terms either. Amazing how our interpretations are so influenced by our experiences and interests. No wonder there is so much disagreement here.

 As with any group, there are those who adopt an extreme position on an issue.

Although 'feminine extremist' do exist, the vast majority of women just want equality in all areas.....imho.

I find it interesting that many of the extremists you mention are essentially angry, often not at the identified target. Often people do not understand their anger, let alone have the identify where it comes from so they direct it at something identifiable.

Information overload. We are constantly being bombarded with unsolicited information primarily to get us to part with money of time.

Maybe there are others, like me, who don't want the hassle of explaining how and why we think as we do. I can only speak for myself but I react to persuasion with strong aversion. It makes me feel like a child being scolded, a school kid being lectured rather than encouraged to think, having to buy the car I want and listening to the salesman try to sell me something different, a suspect being questioned by the police or a witness in court being harassed by the posing lawyer. I suppose I also feel that the how and why of my opinions are not really anyone's business. It's more annoying than a visit to the dentist.
