Happy Hanukkah

As many already know I try to recognize all of the holidays included in the season. Although the Jewish part of my household is not one to observe traditions of any sort I set a menorah in honor of the holiday.

Thank you. Blue and silver are my favorite colors no matter what the time of year - although it's obvious that I really like any bright color.

He seems to since no one in his life since his parents has taken the time to acknowledge his heritage even though he goes out of his way to acknowledge theirs. He even as the country western song goes "loves my cat."

Happy Hanukkah to you and all those who observe this festival and all the many celebrations and observances of this winter celebratory season..........How's that for all-inclusive.......? There are many traditions that celebrate this time of year........One of the ones I like to observe is the WInter Gatherings of the First Nations Peoples here on the coast.......The dancing and singing and theatre and feasting and story-telling and the performance of poetry and the gift-giving ..........It all fits together for me.......The many cultures that contribute to my Winter Festival experience.....The Pagan Solstice traditions that my friends and I celebrate, the pre-Christian traditions that became incorporated into the Christmas celebrations that my family brought from Europe.........all these blending together and forming a beautiful tapestry to light up this dark time of the year...........the welcoming of the Light into the world anew......no matter what we observe that Light to be and whatever rituals we perform in order to signify our gratitude for the life-giving Light.
I do as many holidays as possible - more excuses to play and be childlike but I will admit I don't like the ones that involve fasting or giving up things I like. guess you could call me a hedonist, but being happy and joyful takes focus. Time enough for the serious side of life when it calls me to action, and the introspection when I am alone both of which are in my life is frequently.

    Happy Holidays
Same to you. I have always loved the rich, bright blue and silver scheme that is traditional to Hanukkah.
