Carried Away Again

My cat had some recent issues resulting in multiple vet visits. The old carrier needed replacing. I was able to find the same sort of one in an updated version. Pricy but it collapses, is light weight and is still sturdy enough to meet airline regulations. The cashier advised I put my name on it with permanent marker so that it did not get mixed up at the vets.

Good advice but it seemed kind of tacky. I thought about it and got out my paints. I was going to put the cat's name on it in pretty lettering. Then realized that since he is quite old it will definitely last longer than him and will likely get used for some of my 's pets on occasion. The old carrier lasted over 20 years. This one is even likely to outlast me.

I decided that I would paint a cat on it. It was around Dia de los Muertos so the crazy designs of the holiday were in my mind. Then I couldn't stop with just a cat....................

It looks great spirit, yes definitely a one off, distinctive pet carrier :- )

Hmmmm, wonder if our Hairee2 would like one of these. I will go get her and ask her. If she scratches me, it probably means no, if she purrs, it means yes...Be right back.............

Ok, she does not like to be inside, kept meowing but did look at the picture.

What does it mean when she keeps meowing and stuck her claws in my jeans???

I thought about this but the carrier itself is pricy, then add my work and it would need a high end market - and that is where I fall short as I have no connection to high end anything.

In spite of the "trimmings" she is smart enough to know that any carrier, no matter how fancy usually means the dreaded trip to the vet.

Cats are smarter than we humans. No cat will be fooled by "pretty". Mine will go hide behind the computer equipment when he sees the carrier come out. What I do is take it out a day before and leave it in the living area so he ignores it. Then I can do a quick grab and stuff when it's time to go.

The design part sort of happened as I went along. the actual work is probably about 4 hours. I work on these things while sitting in the evening and pretending to watch TV. Being ADD TV watching for any length of time is impossible unless I am also doing something else.

Thank you - What you see is the result of a restless spirit that does not accept the limits of normal.
