Photo Monday - Wood Since I insist on using only natural or hand crafted items for decor and projects I have many wood items. I chose these becasue they are my most "Unique" The first is my famous blue tree. I read about another artist who did this with dead trees to give them a second life, loved it, and filed the idea away in my mind for when I found the right opportunity. When I moved in here there was a dead tree in the back yard just waiting for a second life. The second is a piece of driftwood I found at the lake the last time we had a good rainy season (4 years ago). Originally I just had it outside with my other pieces in the garden, then I decided to paint it. I had my "family" (it is actually 3 different plants) in the house for a while but eventually moved it back out into the garden. The last is my wand. It is a branch from the hedge in back of the house debarked, sanded and polished. I glued natural stones I harvested from the beach then tumbled and polished to it in a pattern and added a crystal to the end. Very Harry Potter-ish looking but I use it to visualize focusing and directing my thoughts and energy. Spiritwoman ^i^ |

Not sure there is another blue one. The desert artist I got the idea from does his in yellows and oranges to blend in but my favorite color is blue so I figured "why not?" Spiritwoman ^i^

Never thought of my driftwood family as a lamp - that would be interesting. Who knows what I might end up with should I decide to re purpose it yet again. Spiritwoman ^i^
