Which Would You Be? I’m apologizing in advance for making light of something that is obviously important to a few folks but my silly, childish side wants out. No need to analyze. I am fully aware that seeing the absurdities in life and making jokes out of them is how I deal. I’d rather laugh than get upset. This is how my brain processed the crap of late. All of the recent blogs about clucking and pecking set me off on a mental tangent (very common for us ADD folks). I grew up on a farm. There is more to it than chickens. My mind ran with the thought. Picture SFF as a barnyard. How would each of us fit in? My first thought was that I would be the mama cat in the barn but then I realized I would not like a diet of mice I had to catch myself that much. I settled for a goose, preferring to hang out, eat and swim unless threatened. When threatened its head back and it rushes the attacker hissing all of the way. I’d like to hear how others see themselves. We can all ascribe animal personalities to others but I’m asking folks not to do that. Feel free to come up with a new animal analogy for me but other than that only tell us what your animal would be. Spiritwoman ^i^ |

Hi Spirit: Oh, this sounds like fun. I think I might be a quiet little mouse, but then every once in awhile I would run out in front of someone and scare the crap out of them. HehHehHeh

I would want to be the pinafore wearing maiden gathering eggs....probably because that is all the farm thing I ever did and that was when I visited my Aunt and Uncle.

Mmm...I really don't know... I don't like cats or wild animals, neither mice, nor insects.

Much better to be a cow than the mule. I also considered a mule for me and my "Testa Dura". (Italian for hard head ) Spiritwoman ^i^

Nothing like German Shepherds for working dogs. My dad bread them for a while. I have a great pic somewhere of my youngest sister as a toddler curled up with the biggest one. Spiritwoman ^i^

Just don't so what one of my cats did - catch a half grown chicken and leave it in my bed. Nothing like stumbling to bed to be greeted by the dying noises of a chicken. Spiritwoman ^i^

Sheep are gentle and cuddly. They also keep the grass mowed. Spiritwoman ^i^

Since you are a Canadian Goose and I am the standard American plain white one we will both be unique. Spiritwoman ^i^

A hummingbird for me. I'm very gentle, never one to hurry up and end up doing something careless or reckless. All I need is enough to sustain me and I step away for others to enrich themselves as I watch and marvel from afar and then rise above the masses that fight for more than their share and then flutter to a modest branch to rest in peace. I have never seen myself in a barnyard.......always in the wilderness.......There have been a few exceptions......I can see your SFF farmyard analogy in George Orwell's Animal farm........many similarities there........Jim Henson's Muppet special.....the Traveling Muppet Musicians of Bremen has some obvious correlations as well........But I will turn to my favourite American children's farmyard story, Charlotte's Web.......I named my daughter Fern, after all......I would be the wise spider in the corner crafting her web...... A llama, I like that. They can spit like camels too!!!! I remember an "old grey mare" we had when I was 11 or 12. She was a retired polo pony put out to pasture but we kids could till ride her. She was small, gentle and neck broken - would turn on a dime the second she felt the reins on her neck - but stubborn? The minute she knew we were headed back to the barn she would take off in a full gallop and not stop for anything until she was back inside. Spiritwoman ^i^
