Paranoia

As I checked out the profile of someone I didn't recognize this morining I realized that the current battle of insults and handles has even me a bit paranoid. This is unlike me so I thought about it.

Do I Really Need to Know?

With all of the multiple handles and reincarnations that go on I am one that seldom knows who is who. Of course the tried and true folks I have come to know and appreciate during my time on here are who they are and who they have always been so for the most part no issues.

For the rest it occurred to me that I don’t really need to know who you / they are. Being ADD I tend to read everything other than a couple of posts I know will be off the wall politics. If I have something to contribute I will comment. If not I won’t. If people want to comment on my posts they are welcome to do so until they cross a line that I made perfectly clear and 99.6% respect (Thank you for that).

As I see it the multiple handle thing exists due to issues between specific people that do not involve me. If and when it does I will need to deal with it but for now I have enough trouble remembering who I am and my user name on my various accounts I use for daily business . Passwords have become so complex I have to have a “cheat sheet”.

Figuring out who is who and keeping up with all of the snarling and hissing here is just too much trouble. As for tracking down proxy servers etc. - that is way beyond my area of interest and takes time away from the things I need to / prefer to be doing. I am in cyber buckle down mode and directing my 1 or 2 hours a day of cyber technicality patience to finally completing my personal web site and finally making progress and surprising myself at how quickly some of the stuff comes back - but it still gives me a headache if I spend much time with it.

I think the net contributes a lot on both ends. We are better informed of dangers and threats thanks to the net while at the same time being more vulnerable to con artists and scammers. Doing the height of my working days it was worse though - I have gotten over sizing up a room for exits when I enter and making sure one of them is available.

Most are easy to ignore.

My cat is getting old and I wish he could give more more aggravation. Like many of us he has arthritis - believe it or not. I have seen the xrays. At last I know exactly how he feels.

Hi Spirit: I'm only here for about five minutes a day so it's not easy keeping up with all the fake profiles, feuds, and figuring out who's who.

I don't know if this is happening to other people, but every time I get a private message now I automatically suspect the person is either a scammer or someone with a fake profile trying to see if they can get some info they can use against me in the blogs.

I think most of the multi-identity bloggers are recognizable and I just ignore ALL their many ID's and read only the blogs of those I know are genuine.

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

And that he cares. I had to deal with a similar "admirer". Never could figure out why anyone wants to read from anyone they don't like much less spend the time to acknowledge them.

I don't bother to keep up either, there's only one Benny the Blade anyway, thank heavens...LOL
Maybe I can ask you an honest question no one else seems to be able to answer. I'm not being a smart azz but for the life of my I can not understand why someone bothers with people they don't like. Truly, I don't understand and would love it if you could explain it to me. I'll do my best to understand your reasoning.
