Sounds like you enjoyed this as much as I did. You got to wonder though, do they even use these same implements of destruction to teach math these days? I believe the only place I have seen a slide rule in years is in my collection of memories along with my husband's complete set of expensive drafting tools.

Looks like we will need to start home schooling our grand kids to keep these evils away from them.

Exactly. My kids and now grandkids love my stories about chemistry and physics before computers or even calculators. My resident engineer uses AutoCAD for everything as does a friend who is an architect and my nieces high school boyfriend. Apparently it is a very adaptable for all mechanical design occupations.

My youngest was home schooled through most of high school. All of my kids went to private schools thru the 8th grade. The others either adapted to public school or got their diploma's early via alternative programs. This one was not interested in the social pecking order so got a job and completed via home school. Proud to say she held her own in college.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

I had to struggle with math as did my daughter but made it. Now I have a granddaughter who is in math honors classes without making any effort. Must be her Father's genes.

Remember next (at least in my schooling) came "solid geometry". We see lots of "solids" these days.

Glad Joe liked it. It takes us "oldies" who went to school pre computer to really appreciate it. They still teach kids algebra, geometry and trigonometry etc. and the theories are the same - just expressed in a different media via computer. The major difference is that who take these classes is limited to those in math honors or advanced math and later in college those going into science curriculum.

I'll watch out for that one when I walk through the bakery session of the grocery store.
