Meanwhile in Leaf's Iowa

Pig odor or not, life goes on. This is a picture of an actual proposal.

I think that this is a Doctored photo. I can't prove it but I don't believe it. Considering that the Leafie lives in Virginia about 1025 miles to the East of Iowa, you should check your title. Iowa's agricultural economy made the transition to a diversified economy of advanced manufacturing, processing, financial services, information technology, biotechnology, and green energy production. Iowa is the 26th most extensive in land area and the 30th most populous of the 50 United States. Its capital and largest city is Des Moines. Iowa has been listed as one of the safest states in which to live.
I don't know about doctored but it is no doubt posed. It was on a site I frequent under the day's subject - unusual proposals. I go there for humor which is what this is suppose to be.

Notice I said "leaf's Iowa" which is likely a fantasy place. None the less I just can't get past anything pig without thinking of him but in a kindly way as it makes me giggle. .

I've only been through Iowa on cross country trips. I have been to Virginia several times when I lived on the east coast. Not sure I would like to live in either state right now but I assume that both have some interesting communities. I know Virgina has lots of history and beautiful nature. Iowa probably has some too but I have never been there so can't say.

In the right environment pigs can be very clean animals. I had a couple of friends who had pet ones during the pot belly pig for a pet craze. They can be trained like dogs and really entertaining. Having seen the destruction wild herds cause and how vicious they can be I am not inclined to have one.

When I lived with my grandparents on their farm we were self sufficient. The only things purchased were basics like flour, sugar and coffee. If you didn't grow or raise it you didn't eat it.

Sounds like you have an ideal situation for land use. Good old barter system.

I usually don't read them other than maybe a glance in hopes that it is something original. Call me an eternal optimist holding out for original thought.
