I personally walk away from those who are difficult to handle. They are not worth me wasting my time on. The good thing is that I have come across more amenable folks than I have difficult ones.

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

I agree they are not worth it.

Hi Spirit: I had a horrible encounter with one of those difficult people yesterday and couldn't believe how abominably she behaved, but then it hit me later like a ton of bricks that I am a very difficult person myself so I'm hardly in a position to judge her or anyone else's actions.

Sorry to hear about your mother. All of us who have been fortunate to have our parents with us for a long time have likely seen this. My personal conclusion is that the "side effects" of aging are frustrating and increasingly more uncomfortable and that the irritability has more to do with that than anything. The more debilitated we get the angrier we get against something we don't really understand making us shorter and shorter on patience. My best to you and your mom.

After a confrontation or two with a difficult, unfortunate person, I thank my "lucky stars" I am just who I am, while also hoping that that person might find happiness somewhere, somehow, someday
Agree - kind of like "it could be worse. I could be them"

Walking away is best when we can. I find most of f the difficult ones in the vast minority but they sure can be trying, particularly if we are in a situation where we can not walk away becasue they are a teacher, police officer, ER doc etc. .

So true. I think we all have people in our lives who are "difficult" but are just what you say, honorable and honest smart, caring and can be helpful and valuable but have their issues we work around - then there are those others...........

Good point. "difficult" can be a matter of perspective. Then there is the case of too much alike. My youngest granddaughter and her father argue endlessly becasue they are so much alike, stubborn while the older one and her mother are always getting into "flash arguments" becasue they are hot tempered and quick to lash out.

Like feeling like our younger self then getting the reality check in the mirror.

We have to be careful though as that might end up with us spending at least a few hours locked in a cell with many more difficult people.

I think Difficult and just plain mean are two different things!!
that they are. Difficult does not imply intent to mean. Mean is just plane mean no matter how you look at it.

Take some time, cootchie and ask yourself........You and I disagree on most things........I see you posting post after post complaining about certain bloggers, seeking agreement and approval from others..........like the juveniles who seek companionship and popularity by identifying a common enemy..... compatriots in mutual hatred.

Think about it......the most amazing, intelligent and talented people would be considered "difficult" by the mainstream who value social safety and comfort above character and intelligence........I know that Pablo Picasso, Mark Twain and Albert Einstein, Bob Dillon, Keith Jarret, Vincent Van Gogh.......were all considered "difficult"......You go ahead and play your little ,empty feel-good games........I'm so not interested.
You summed it up perfectly.
