Not for me. However the definition of what I want changes. It used to be hot romantic passion was the priority. Now it is friendship and compatibility that are most important. I also think that as we get older we become more and more comfortable with our lives and less likely to disrupt them with the roller coaster ride of relationships.

As for your daughter - the only way for her to be on her own is to be able to take care of herself. Relationships are just too unreliable. Independence was the greatest gift my grandmother passed on to me. I have done my best to pass that along. In my case that is not completely possible as I have an adopted son with disabilities who will always depend on me.

Interesting comments on this subject. 57Tall it is all like a merry go round that just keeps going around and around if you so choose to let it do that. I don't believe in carrying around excess baggage. I like to live each day to the fullest and if someone should happen to come along and make my life more meaningful then that would be a plus.
