Thank you for the information, Bob. The problem isn't that barry (and hilly) lie through their teeth, it's that people don't care. Certainly not their drooling followers - that is expected. But there are too many others out there who just shrug it off.

I am afraid we are getting the government we (as a whole) deserve, but not what the Founders intended (or imagined in their darkest dreams).

It ill behoves a cherry picker of a journalist to jibe at the way in which a politician picks the facts that he wishes to use to his advantage. It is even more reprehensible when the same journalist uses a quite breathtaking untruth to justify his claim that his target is telling lies.
It is an undeniable FACT that unemployment in the USA was 10% in 2009 (Nov) and is 5.4% in 2015 (June).
I will leave the National Association of Manufacturers to answer the contextual lies which underpin the rest of this article:
Quoting from their own website: -

In the most recent data, manufacturers contributed $2.09 trillion to the economy. This figure has steadily risen since 2009 when manufacturers contributed $1.73 trillion. The sector accounts for 12.0 percent of GDP.1 For every $1.00 spent in manufacturing, another $1.37 is added to the economy, the highest multiplier effect of any economic sector.2
Manufacturing supports an estimated 17.6 million jobs in the United States—about one in six private-sector jobs. More than 12 million Americans (or 9 percent of the workforce) are employed directly in manufacturing.3
In 2013, the average manufacturing worker in the United States earned $77,506 annually, including pay and benefits. The average worker in all industries earned $62,546.

    Quoting  :

I will pardon anyone being outspoken when they say something sensible, but I do not see why I should pardon a smug, self satisfied know all who cannot even read making comments about subjects on which he obviously knows nothing.
The 'fuzzy math' to which you refer is not mine but is quoted VERBATIM from the website of the American National Association of Manufacturers; the very people who do the manufacturing.
As for your jibe about 'class kids and 2nd grad tutoring' I would simply point out that I actually teach up to foundation degree level in Chemistry and University entrance level in Physics - you should really be careful when trying to write put downs; your ignorance lets you down and exposes you for the fool you are.

I rest my case. There is no need to say more in reply to such incoherent nonsense.

Bond's "knowledge" comes almost exclusively from the internet and should be checked for accuracy AND completeness. It completely ignores the people who have dropped out of the labor force. That would put the unemployment rate back up to the 10% range.

As far as ET, perhaps you should familiarize yourself a little more with Gov. Walker's accomplishments. They go directly against the national trends with respect to unemployment and debt.

But hey - don't let a few facts stop you from being ignorant: you do it so well.......

Where does your 'knowledge ' come from Sax? Do you personally know the many millions of people who have dropped out of the labour market or you did you get your figures from a media source? I quoted your own department of labour figures - they are freely available and they are absolutely clear. I do not see you producing any compelling evidence to disprove these figures.

Are you capable of reading what has been posted?

I have copied the quote I used from the official website of the American National Association of Manufacturers. If you wish to dispute their figures please state your sources .

As lies go this is pretty weak beer.

I'll start calling Obama a liar when he puts up a big banner with 'Mission Accomplished' on it.
