My Favorite

I have written hundreds of poems, yet there's onlya couple I have memorized. most of the time the meaning to me at the time of the writing is more important than the words, so I keep the meaning and let the words go.
Thought I'd repost my favorite.

YOU THOUGHT I HUNG THE MOON AND ALL

YOUR EYES TOLD ME SO

IT MADE ME FEEL TEN FEET TALL

THAT'S ALL LOVE NEEDS TO KNOW

*****

BUT EXPECTATIONS PAID THE DEVIL'S DUE

WHEN WHAT WAS PAID WAS NOT ENOUGH

THE TOLL ON LOVE, THE REVENUE

THAT COUNTS THE UNIMPORTANT STUFF

*****

THE MOON SHINES OVER THE SLEEPING MOUNTAIN

UNTIL CHANGING EYES SAY MORE THAN LIPS

AND THE EXPECTATIONS YOU BEGIN TO COUNT ON

CREATE A LUNAR ECLIPSE

Roxy,

Thank you for reading me. Some things you may not know,

Almost all the poems I have written, were written on this site.

I began writing in 2004, Don't know why..it just happened.

Many of my inspirations and thoughts were taken from this site.

Since I have not been here much lately, I have not written anything new.

Thinking I'd like to change that, but I think the problem here was far more political than poetic.

What I learned from writing poetry is that I have a desire to inspire people to think for themselves. People don't need to get my meaning from poetry, they just need to find their meaning. I appreciate those who seek it.
