....While reading a blog yesterday, my favorite blogger ridiculed, mocked and made fun of Dr. James Dobson. This goes to the heart of where his ethics and values are. Dr. Dobson is the Chairman of Focus on the Family which he founded in 1977. He has not taken a penny in salary as the royalties from books and other publications provide him with enough income to live comfortably on. This organization provide free christian counseling to families in crisis, Ultra sound machines to crisis pregnancy centers in order that pregnant mothers can view the development of the baby in the womb. This initiative has already prevented over 1500 babies from being murdered by the Abortionist knife. They advocate vouchers and funding for private religious schools. They strongly reject homosexual behavior while providing support and counseling for the homosexual who wants to convert.......Naturally the strong Left who has the Democratic party in their pocket uses the same tactics as the blogger did in ridiculing and mocking this exceptional man and the organization he founded........Carry on Dr Dobson you are the kind of warrior that is needed in todays decadent society. Your daily radio broadcasts reach over 220 million listeners worldwide in over 160 countries. Your values and ethics are based on Godly principles not mans........

Lets Everyone Get "Nudged"..........

.....In a recent article by George Will he discusses a "Nudge" as opposed to a push. The "Nudge" factor is used all the time as marketers will place higher profit items at eye level in stores and generic or store brand items are often on the lower shelfs. In school cafeterias salads, apples, oranges and other fruits are displayed first. Candy and fudge are way down the line....We like the school children are being "Nudged" to make decisions that will be beneficial to us and the bottom line.....Seems like Mr.Will wants employees to automatically be enrolled in 401K or IRA's automatically in the workplace. He cites that left to the employee to do this, many do not and consequently do not prepare adequately for retirement. This causes the Government to step in and provide assistance to supplement an already overburdened Social Security system. He said that research shows that once enrolled few actually opt out.......At first I thought this would be an infringement of individual rights. However, I also see that a "Nudge" like that benefits the Individual and the Government, as any increase in our cumulative savings as a Country is a good thing. Considering all the "Nudges" we get from all sources this one is definitely a good idea.............

Its All About Vision.............

....In 1961 in his first state of the Union speech President John Kennedy urged Congress to set a national goal of putting a Man on the Moon before the decade was over. He urged them to allocate millions of dollars for this effort. In that speech his optimistic reasoning was summed up in one paragraph..... "I believe we possess all the resources and talents necessary. But the facts of the matter are that we have never made the national decisions or marshaled the national resources required for such leadership. We have never specified long-range goals on an urgent time schedule, or managed our resources and our time so as to insure their fulfillment."......Ronald Reagan made similar statements about his star wars Missile Defense Systems. Both Presidents had the vision to initiate a bold new future for America......As I listened to Senator McCain's new plan to help solve our energy independence on foreign sources of oil I thought wow what a concept. Offering 300 million dollars to the inventor of a battery that would do just that.....Just like his predecessors he will have many detractors and they will certainly dismiss this as Science Fiction and a waste of resources. However, I recall sitting riveted to the TV in that summer in 1969 watching Neil Armstrong and hearing " one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind". Similarly I heard President Reagan announce to Mikhail Gorbachev "tear down this wall." Then in 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union, east and west Germany united as the wrecking ball demolished that wall.......The determination and spirit of the American people knows no bounds. Whenever we set a goal that seems beyond anyones ability to imagine, we have succeeded. Thank you Senator McCain for another bold vision that whomever is elected will embrace this initiative and pursue it with all dispatch.

I Overlooked an Orchid...........

......My 1st marriage never stood a chance. Military deployments did us in. My 2nd marriage lasted 25 years. Empty nest syndrome did us in. Then I met CJC. I have told her if she ever leaves me pack my bags to, because I'm going with her. I'm sure glad love is like baseball 2 strikes and you not out....I had one more strike to go before I hit a homerun with her.
The orchid is a flower that blooms so tenderly To thrill the fairest lady of the land If placed beside a blushing rose the rose cannot compare, but how was such as I to understand.
I overlooked an orchid while searching for a rose The orchid that I overlooked was you The roses that I found have proved to be untrue
The roses have lost their color but the orchid is the same, and I'm no longer alone to face these lonely years. I did see that orchid while I was looking for a rose, and now I don't have to pay the price with bitter tears, because I found that orchid for the rest of my years.......CJC your the greatest.
...Carl Smith,paraphrased.

.....America has never been an empire. We may be the only great power in history that had the chance, and refused – preferring greatness to power and justice to glory. .....America has never been united by blood or birth or soil. We are bound by ideals that move us beyond our backgrounds, lift us above our interests and teach us what it means to be citizens. .....America will never run... And we will always be grateful that liberty has found such brave defenders. By heritage and by choice, the United States of America will make that stand. G W Bush President, United States of America.

......This weekend one of my Gson's is playing in a 96 team tournament in Cooperstown NY. He plays for an AAU team from NC. They played 2 games today and I was able to watch the second game in its entirety on the web. The boy is the teams catcher and has a pop time of a lttle over 2 seconds. (people who know baseball will know what that is but I did explain it to CJC). Along with his 2 homeruns and 4 rbi's his team won 5 to 0 beating a team from Michigan. This was on top of this morning when he had 1 homerun a double and a single in a 16-3 win over a team from Maryland......The next game on the web is tomorrow morning and I dont have to tell you that I will be in front of this ole PC ......aint technology grand!!!!

.....I was looking at the 10 greatest speeches today and not Surprising they included Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, JFK's 1st Inaugural address, Martin Luther King's I have a dream speech....Also speeches by Nelson Mandela, Winston Churchill and Sojourner Truth made the list. I was mildly disappointed that my favorite was not among the top 10 but wasn't even in the top 100.......In the interest of brevity I will paraphrase some of it and see if you agree with me that it should have been on the list........
........" I want you men to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his Country. He won it by making the the other dumb bastard die for his Country. All this stuff you hear about America not wanting to fight, wanting to stay out of this war is a lot of horses**t. Americans love a fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. As children you loved the fastest runner the best marble shooter and toughest boxers. Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. The very thought of losing is hateful to Americans. Our Military is a team. This individuality stuff is bulls**t. Those bastards who write for the NY Times don't know anymore about battle that they do about F***ing. The American Military is the best equipped have the best food , training, spirit and men in the world. I pity the poor bastard that we go up against. Were not just gonna just shoot the bastards were gonna rip out their guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We will murder those lousy bastards by the bushel basket.......I don't want to get any messages saying were holding our position. We will constantly advance. The only thing that we will hold on to is the enemy. We will hold on to his balls while we kick the s**t out of him. We will go through him like crap goes through a Goose.......30 years from now when your grandson says what did you do in the war daddy? You wont have to stutter and cough and say "well I shoveled s**t in Louisiana.....All right you sons of bitches you know how I feel. I'll be proud to lead you wonderful guys in battle. anytime and anywhere. Thats all and DISMISSED."
......There were many variations to this speech as it was made without text or notes and was not recorded. If it sounds familiar you probably recognize that George C. Scott gave a similar rendition at the beginning of the Academy Award movie "Patton". This was the speech General Patton gave his 3rd Army before deploying to France .......You have many critics General, but there is one thing they cannot deny you. You produced results. You were a winner and the enemy feared the very mention of your name. War is tough, but you were tougher. Rest well old warrior in the thick red clay of the Ardennes alongside fallen members of your beloved 3rd Army in Hamm, Luxembourg.....
"When in doubt, Attack"....George Smith Patton Jr., General, United States Army.......

Slavery Freedom Day.............Change you can believe in.

........A pretty good description of Slavery is; a set of circumstances whereby one person is forcibly used to serve the purposes of another person and has no legal claim to the fruits of his labor...... American tax freedom day this year was April 21st. In the year 2000 at the end of the Clinton tax years it was May 7th. American slavery has been reduced by 16 days thanks to the Bush tax cuts, and President Clinton did not have to contend with a war. Now according to the polls we are seriously considering electing a President who if all his proposals are to be implemented will raise tax freedom day similar to Canada's. June 15th, a full 55 days longer than in America.......So bring it on Senator Obama tell the enthusiastic crowds how you will make them slaves for a longer time. Tell them how you will take the fruits of their labor of which they will have no legal claim. Tell them Senator Obama how your policies will extend tax freedom day.........Who knows with a Democratic super majority in both houses of Congress and a Democrat in the White House America may take the lead away from Canada on Tax Freedom Day......It is time for HR 35 ( the fair tax) to become the law of the land which would fully fund our Government and every dime we made went into our pocket instead of the Government's.

The Blame Game...........

.....We Americans are a spoiled lot. We tend to blame anything and anybody for our troubles. Like the Bush Administration or Global warming. There are a host of behaviors we can engage in that can make America strong. They are not being done because so many of us want Uncle Sam to take care of it......Today when I got on the interstate I set the cruise control on 55 mph. You remember those days? It was 1974 when President Nixon mandated all highway speed limits set at 55 mph. Oh what an outrage. Some areas reported 85% non compliance. Nevada would not issue speeding tickets but issued energy wasting citations instead for a $5 fine. Anyway if we all slowed down it would be one more step in the right direction. ...Oh on the interstate today I passed no car but was blown off the road, honked at, and saw many middle finger salutes raised in my direction.

......The absolute hatred for President Bush on this site is beyond reality. If someone was to tell me just a few of the things that he has been called in here I would say impossible. These last few days I have been shocked to my core of the venom spewed forth toward a sitting President. Those who have done this and those who agree with them are despicable and certainly no patriot of this country. You have shown me that you are not worthy of the blessings of liberty enjoyed in this great Country. Irregardless of his politics he is a man of high moral courage and in no way deserves the wrath of those in here who defame him. This Country is blessed to have men that step forward and lead this Republic. All our Presidents deserve our respect. Your refusal to even consider anything positive he has done during his Presidency makes me wonder what kind of citizens you are. It is utterly shameful.....It is inexcusable and pathetic.
