......Misspoke Obama sure is piling them up. He is now about to pull even with the Bushism's. There was the 57 states and the people clinging to their religion and guns. Theres the quote where he says Senator McCain voted 90% with President Bush and the President has never voted in the Senate. Now yesterday in an televised interview with George Stephanopoulos he slips (freudian or otherwise) and says " You're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith." ....."my Muslim faith"? really Senator? Quick to correct him Mr Stephanopoulos says "my Christian faith".....Senator Obama then says "well, what I am saying is that he hasn't suggested that I'm a Muslim"......Thats right Senator he hasn't because you just did....I guess the teleprompter was not working. We all have to draw our own conclusions on this.......I would venture to say that Senator Obama's relationship with Christianity is a matter of convienence to further his political agenda and career not to further his spirituality or the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

......After being away for most of the Democrat and Republican conventions I have been trying to catch up on what I missed. I am quickly finding out not much. It was the same old drivel that Senator Barack Hussein Obama keeps spinning out as he did to win the nomination. So along with thinking that there is 57 states he says Senator McCain votes 90%of the time with President Bush. Not only does he not know American geography but he doesn't know American civics either. One would think a US Senator would know that the President has no vote. The only administration official that votes in the US Senate is the Vice-President and only if there is a 50-50 tie. Last time that happened was under President Clinton's tax increase when VP Al Gore cast the tie breaking vote...........Oh well I guess that is why he has taken over a year to admit that the "surge" has worked and that victory in Iraq is in sight. He just didn't want to admit that President Bush had a policy that was a success. Seems odd that he admires the President Bush's fighting AIDS and wants to expand President Bush's community based initiatives, but says we cannot have 4 more years of the Bush administrations failed policies.......He knows nothing about geography, civics and now claims ignorance about President Bush. The "failed" policies have resulted in an economic growth of 19% over eight years. Almost 85% of Americans has health insurance. From 2001-2007 unemployment average in America was 4.7% well below President Clinton's average of of 5.2%. Now this brings us to the national debt. Our children will inherit a massive debt. OK consider this, the interest to service the debt is only averaged 2% of the Gross Domestic Product under President Bush as compared to 3.2% under President Clinton........OK Senator Barack Hussein Obama stop the mis-speak stop the pander-speak and stop telling us how bad the Bush Administration is and tell us just exactly what you want to change? The only change I see that you want is to change your office from one end of Pennsylvania Ave. to the other end...........P.S. Don't call the movers because until you can stop the flip flop its not gonna happen.........
......Greetings friends and acquaintances. CJC and I have returned from our trip to the great state of Maine, the way life should be. The lighthouses are still here, along with the rocky coastline, cool crisp air, lobstahhhs and clams and no billboards.....Our 100th family reunion was a success. My 2nd cousin Stanley was the oldest one present at 92. I asked him if he is retired (hes very successful) and he replied " heavens no I would stahhhve to death". CJC and I were the newly weds (17 months). 2nd Cousin Steve traveled the farthest as he was home from the peace corps in Vanuatu Pacific Islands. I am very proud of my family not for who or what they are but of what they value. Their commitment to come together every year for the last 100 has been a remarkable journey.......We took many pictures and in a few days CJC will have an album up on picture trail.......All have a good day and all go safe and well......
.....In Colonial times before America sought Independence from England it was settled for basically 2 reasons. Those seeking religious freedoms and those seeking economic freedoms. It was from those 2 perspectives that this country was born. Blessed with an abundance of natural resources America thrived economically. Our storied Colleges and Universities started out as Divinity Schools. Religion was more than an occasional Sunday sitting on the back row mouthing the words to some hymn one has never heard before. Church was an integral part of life in Colonial and the early days of this Countries birth. Such was the case of a young man named William working in his fathers lumber yard in a small wilderness settlement in Norway Maine. Working 6 long days he would arise at 4 am on Sunday and travel a treacherous journey on horse and buggy. His destination was Raymond Maine for the 11 o'clock service at the nearest Quaker meeting house/church. It was there in 1834 that he met is future bride Emma. Enraptured by her beauty and the magnificent view from atop Quaker Hill, they were married at the small meeting house that still stands today...........Because of that union their descendants meet for a reunion every year. As CJC and I travel to Maine this weekend we will attend our 100th reunion which began in 1908. For the first time all my children and their children will be in attendance, so it will be a special time for me. The next day the descendants of my Grandfather will meet for a old fashioned New England Clam/Lobster bake which was started by him in 1946 to celebrate his Son my Uncle on his safe return from WW2......Thanks for taking the time to read this little tidbit into my life. I wish all to have the blessings in your lives as I have had and continue to have in mine.....Only the love of God exceeds the love of ones family......God bless you all.
.......Tonight at the Democratic Convention in Denver there will be a 15 minute video shown for a tribute to Ted Kennedy. I have no doubt that the events that happened 39 years ago will not be included in that tribute....... On that fateful night on Chappaquiddick Island the Senator was driving Mary Jo Kopechne a former secretary to Robert Kennedy back to her hotel from a party held at the Kennedy Compound. He alleges that he took a wrong turn onto a dirt road and when he saw the dike bridge realized his mistake but it was to late. His car went off the bridge into the tidal pool. Mary Jo Kopechne died that night of suffocation........ Disoriented she seeked oxygen and found an air bubble in the car. Desperate she clung to it and continued to breathe while hoping for someone to rescue her. The length of time of tonight's tribute was probably the time it took for the oxygen to be deleted from that small air bubble. Now asphyxiation started to set in. As her hemoglobin could no longer supply her body and brain cells with oxygen she became unconscious in a matter of minutes. As she struggled and gasped for air there was none. Her body now comatose and unable to breathe sank down in the water and she died a horrible death.........Senator Kennedy an accomplished swimmer claimed to have made several attempts to rescue her but became distraught when he failed. He then claimed to have made his way back to the Edgarton landing passing several homes where he could have called for help and swam the 500 foot channel. After a night of tossing and turning he claims he makes his way to the police station the next morning to report the accident.......He was only charged with leaving the scene of an accident although he was driving on an expired license and their is clearly a suspicion of his being intoxicated. No mention of his previous poor driving record was brought up in the 7 min trial in which he pleaded guilty to the charge and received a suspended sentence.........So now tonight as I watch this "tribute" I will think of that young girl clinging to life in that overturned car as her oxygen becomes depleted, knowing in my heart that there is a strong possibility that she could have been saved and because of the name of Kennedy we will never know.........We will never know......
......Senator Obama during the Saddleback Church Forum hosted by Pastor Rick Warren clearly showed everyone the distinct differences between him and Senator McCain than any 30 sec ad or a host of Debates could never have done..........When the subject of Abortion was brought up, Senator Obama said "Although we've had a President who is opposed to Abortion the rates have not gone down"......Absolutely false...Abortion is at its lowest rate since 1974. Thanks to President Bush and other initiatives there are 400,000 fewer abortions a year from a high of 1.6 million in 1990......When asked about his vote against the Child Born Alive Act he said that if the Illinois bill was the same as the Federal Bill he would not have voted against it......Absolutely false..... It was exactly the same in which the Senate voted 98-0 for passage. He also voted against the ban on partial birth abortions. These two procedures are the most disgusting of all. I defy anyone who can permit a baby born alive to be put on a shelf to die and to watch a partial birth extraction where the babies skull is crushed while still in the birth canal moments before delivery, say it doesn't disgust you. His vote on these 2 issues shows clearly where his interest lies. I am willing to bet every Abortion provider in the country contributes heavily to his campaign. In true conscience I cannot vote for him just on these issues alone. He is completely out of touch with the reality of "What you do to the least of my brethren you do also unto me". There is none as vunerable, none as innocent, none more dependant on us for its care and well being than the unborn child........You can be sure he will nominate Judges that will overturn any Pro-Child legislation that is now law and will allow this Holocaust to continue unabated......
......An expense we never see is of course taxes. Ask the average man/woman on the street how much taxes they paid the IRS last year and you will hear "I don't know but I got $750 back." Each month when the average worker gets their pay check they just see the net pay, or how much they "clear" little thought is given to the taxes withheld. Senator Obama says he will raise taxes on the rich (those making over $250,000) a little. Right now if a person(s) is making $275,000 net he/she is paying approx. $100,00 i9n federal taxes. You can bet if these (3-4% of the population) are smart enough, dedicated enough, productive enough, and have enough skills to earn that much, they know exactly what their tax liability is. Senator Obama's "little" is 8.6% more. This means that extra $25,001 net will cost them in extra taxes approx. $20,000......I know its difficult for guys like me and other average folks to feel sorry for those in the "rich" category but what do you do when the price of something goes up? Gasoline this summer went as high as $4 + bucks a gallon. What did you do? You cut back, took fewer trips, slowed down, carpooled, used public transportation and a host of other strategies to conserve gasoline. Its common sense that when an expense cost more we cut back. Same thing the Achiever will do. Perhaps he/she feels the extra effort to produce $25,000 in extra net income is not worth the $5,000 they get for it. They will cut back, produce less, or hide it and all this means is that there will be less revenue for the federal treasury. Senator Obama either has no clue on how to raise revenue, I personally think he does, or he wants to get the vote of the 96% of us who have no clue as to what our own tax liabilities are.....This was evidently clear when he was asked in a debate why he wanted to raise capital gains tax when it shows that less revenue is collected. His reply was ahh umm err umm huh err the average american is not worried about capital gains. Tell that to the average guy ready to retire and counting on a modest 401K or IRA to supplement a meager Social Security check. Tell that to a worker who has a small stock portfolio who now wants to cash it in to pay for his children's college expenses. Yes Senator Obama tell them and us the truth on how you are going to "soak" the "rich". We just don't like to be pandered with an ahhh errr ummmm huuu aaa ooohh ummm......Just tell the truth "If You Can"
. ....Over the course of Baseball's history there have been some bad trades. The Red Sox sending Babe Ruth to the Yankees. The Cubs sending Lou Brock to the Cardinals and the Rangers sending Sammy Sosa to the Cubs....Seems like the Democrats are poised to do a something similar . They have forbidden/banned John Edwards from speaking and attending the Democratic National Convention in Denver because of his scandalous affair with another woman and lying about it. They then decided to replace him with former President Bill Clinton.
.....I am dedicating this blog to YaYa a member who has been banned for life much to the delight of a few that viewed her as mean spirited and hateful. Nothing could be further from the truth. Those of us who have had the pleasure of knowing and meeting her do know the truth. Because of the malicious actions of a few everyone in SFF has been deprived of knowing a charming, thoughtful and amicable lady. I first started chatting with YaYa back when I first joined SFF in 2000. She was genuine and had a concern for everyone. I recall once she was ready to hop a plane to Hawaii to "rescue" Gray's Harbor who had missed his plane back to the states. He was actually chatting away in the chat room while his plane was leaving Honolulu. YaYa has tried to come back to SFF many times to once again stay in touch with her many many friends. As soon as one of the miscreants recognize her new handle SFF is notified and shes banned again. The actions of these few malcontents is evident as they bait and entice an argument so they can lure you into a situation to discredit you. They know the game and the rules and play it very well. Beware friends for their viciousness knows no bounds.........Do not fear as there is another chat room where everyone is cheerful and delightful and there is no arguing or meanness. It has colorful animation and sound effects and completely relaxing. Civility is the rule not the exception. Those few that denied YaYa from SFF has denied all its members from knowing her and the wonderful person she is....... Shame on them.....
