CJC and the Vacuum Cleaner. Jul 11, 2008 9:25 am
635 Views
.....About 6 months ago CJC said she needs a new Vacuum cleaner. I said OK get one. Wal Mart had one with the features she wanted and it was around $150. After assembling it, the thing never seemed to work right. It was bag less and the half dozen damn filters had to be constantly cleaned. She would have to go over some carpet debris about ten times before it would pick It up. Being a heavy, noisy, bulky thing she really had a go of it every time she vacuumed..........About a month ago we had professionals come in to clean the carpet and we asked them to look at the vacuum to see if they could find out what was wrong. They took it all apart inspected all the filters and hoses for blockage. They found nothing and said maybe its not powerful enough. Darn what do I have to do get one with a V8 turbo charged hemi?......Contacting the manufacture we took it to a repair shop across town. They looked at it and said its fine. Fine? it doesn't pick up like we want. He said well if you want something that will do that you need something simple. He brought out one that weighed 4 pounds had a bag on it and a motor so strong it could suck pickles out of a barrel. CJC tried it out in the store and when I saw her smile that was it. How Much I said. $350 was the reply, I will give you $20 off for your old cleaner and throw in 2 pkgs of bags, I didn't hesitate "Sold" I said. The thing is so light and powerful makes vacuuming almost nice........well that almost might be a stretch but it does work like night and day compared to the other Elephant we had.....

Reflections .......The NC Bash Jul 11, 2008 8:18 am

.......Thinking about the NC Bash last weekend and all the good times everyone had I got to reflect about what a bargain it was for those of us who were able to stay at the lodge. For a mere $200 one could get a room/bunk plus all the entertainment/activities/fishing and FOOD for 4 days!! Being in the food business all my adult life I was hard pressed to stay out of the way. The many volunteers for breakfat and Dinners did a fantastic job. CJC and I did miss the pig/chicken roast as we had to get back home so perhaps my favorite other than breakfast was the fish fry. Fried, fresh caught, Catfish is wonderful with a big bottle of Texas Pete. My all time favorite was Rocky's Jalapeno Hush Puppies. They were a meal in itself. Rocky being active duty Navy, I didnt think he had it in him but he did. My hats off to all the Lodge personnell and volunteeers who made it all happen. Gonna be hard to top this one......

The World View of America......... Jul 8, 2008 4:26 pm
516 Views
.......Much has been said about Americas unfavorable standing throughout the world and blame for that is placed directly at the feet of President George W Bush. World Leaders like Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, Robert Mugabe, Kim Il Jong and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have strongly denounced the United States and President Bush in particular. One only has to look at the countries they lead and realize that their criticism is indeed welcome as it reminds us of the good things President Bush does for not only for Americans but other citizens throughout the World Community. The Presidents unwavering commitment against terrorism, Americas herculean humanitarian efforts, aid packages to countries struggling with poverty, disease and hunger, all contribute to a favorable world view of America and its policies. The left wing myths that constantly beat the drum of how the world hates America plays directly into the hands of those who would harm us......Consider the remarks from Italy's 3 time Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi........
........."George W. Bush, will be remembered as Commander in Chief, but not only for that. He was above all a President who felt the moral obligation that the leading nation of the free world must carry. My thoughts return again to that G-8 summit, where Italy had brought to the top of the agenda the fate of the world's poorest nations. And Bush was an early and enthusiastic supporter of our initiative to establish a fund for combating endemic illnesses...... One time, Bush told me that it is reasonable to have doubts, but not to have so many doubts that you cannot make a decision. It's up to historians to judge his presidency, but whatever fate history holds for him, I am sure that George W. Bush will be remembered as a leader of ideals, courage and sincerity. Personally, I will always remember him as a friend, a true man who loves his family, understands the meaning of friendship and is grateful toward America's allies around the world."

Berlusconi was elected Prime Minister of Italy for a third time last month

....Thank you Mr. Prime Minister you have echoed the thoughts of many Americans who know the truth about our President, despite the rhetoric of his detractors..........

B. Hussein Obama and the failed policies of the Bush Administration. Jul 7, 2008 8:47 pm
575 Views
...Not long ago Senator Obana said he would expand on the Bush Administration faith based iniatives. He also applauded the Bush Administration and the Supreme court recent descision that struck down the DC handgun ban. He now states that he will not set a timetable for troop withdrawl from Iraq. He said that he puts the safety and security of the American people first and foremost. So much for the failed policies of the Bush Administration. Im feeling better now. Seems no matter who gets elected President Bush's policies will remain intact. God Bless America, President Bush are you ready for another term?.........

A Womans Right? a repost Jul 7, 2008 5:42 pm

Glad to see you back Donald you didnt stay away to long did you? You also didnt expect me to sit idlely by while you praised the abortionist knife did you? but it seems I am still blocked even though you state comments are welcomed.

....There is one issue that is not being addressed very often in this political season. That is the matter of the Supreme Court. There will potentially be several justices that stand to be replaced during the tenure of the next president. If McCain gets elected, then the Supreme Court will probably be overwhelmingly conservative. If Obama is elected then we will probably see the same orientation that we now have.
.........How does this affect us? Well as a man it probably won't make a lot of difference...at least not on the level that women will be affected. McCain wants Roe vs Wade to be revisited by the court with the desired outcome that it be overturned. That will probably mean that a woman's right to decide if she will carry a child to term will be removed from her. That is unless she wants to visit some back alley abortionist that works with surgical tools like clothes hangers.
.........Now McCain is a man so he doesn't have to contend with worrying how a child is housed, clothed, or fed when the man that had sex with her (unwanted at times) has run off to do the same thing with any number of other women. I wonder how McCain would feel if the Supreme Court ruled that he couldn't have a bowel movement the next time he had diarhhea?
.....So while most women here are past child bearing age, how will this affect your daughters and your granddaughters? This has enormous consequences.
......It should be noted that both Obama and McCain personally disfavor abortion. The difference is that McCain wants to make his preferences your law. Obama is content to allow people the freedom of dominion over their own bodies.
.......As a woman, you might want to consider this when you enter the voting booth next November.

Liberal Hatred......... Jul 7, 2008 7:42 am
1732 Views
......Do Liberals hate the truth more than they hate conservatives.....Well a conservative can change but the truth cannot so I guess they do. Homosexuality is a sin, Life begins at conception, abortion is the taking of a life, Money needs to be earned not redistributed, free markets solve problems government creates them, affirmative action is unfair to all races, gender equality will never occur. The Judeo-Christian ethic is deeply rooted in this Country and is the basis for all the freedoms we enjoy. We tolerate other points of view but should never give those views equal footing. Man has dominion over this planet not the polar bear or spotted owl........Have I got the hate out yet? are you seething? your nostrils flaring? How about this, President Bush is an honorable man who restored the dignity of the Office. His policies have kept us safe. He is truthful and a patriot. Need I say more to make your blood boil? Have I got your dander up? Liberalism has outgrown its causes and is a defunct ideology. America is free because and only because of our military not because some Judge says its Ok for homosexuals to marry or a protester to burn our flag. Wake up get on board be proud of this country, you want change OK good. Lets bring prayer back in the schools, eliminate affirmative action, reverse Roe vs Wade. Strengthen our Military, adopt the Fair Tax, promote self- reliance and personal responsibility.........Right now I know your mad as hell but as Clark Gable said "Frankly my Dear I don't give a damn"......

(Beachwood Ohio) - Beachwood has canceled its annual 4th of July Rec League All-Star Game for 9 to 12 year olds......In a letter to coaches, Assistant Recreation Supervisor Frank Vicchiarelli announced that the decades old tradition would end because certain kids were being singled out as better players than others.......... Fred Engh of the National Alliance for Youth Sports has strongly discouraged all-star games. His argument is that the games belong to all of the children, and not just a select few. The Beachwood Rec Department feels that this event takes a back seat to the real focus of the program, the kid’s games...........Critics of the cancellation say it's not necessary and players who excel should be given a showcase. As in life, they point out, there are always winners and losers. ........But Engh says that kind of competitiveness belongs in older kids, not players at this level. He says 9 to 12 year olds need to build their self confidence, and many sign up to play baseball at this age just to have fun. ..........Well now isn't this nicey nice how about lets not even keep score or lets let everyone run to first base. Don't want to hurt any feelings here......little Johnny's not playing ball hes having "fun". I bet some "Mommies" had something to do about this.....Glad I don't live in Beachwood......

Jesse Helms a repost for all the liberal disrespecters Jul 6, 2008 7:48 pm
624 Views
....... I was saddened by the news that Senator Jesse Alexander Helms died yesterday. Born in a small town of Monroe NC, where his father was chief of police, he was taught lessons early on that he carried through his entire life. Originally a Democrat he ran as a Republican in the 1972 NC Senatorial election and served for 30 years (5 terms). Senator Helms was considered the thorn under the saddle of the liberal movement. He fought adamantly against Communism, tax increases, abortion, homosexuality, affirmative action, food stamps, secularism and government health care. Nobody could ever say Jesse Helms flip flopped. He opposed the federal holiday honoring Dr Martin Luther King, also federal funds for AIDS treatment and research, saying that all cases of aids could be traced to the despicable act of sodomy. On his stance opposing abortion he said he will never apologize for being the voice for the rights of the most vunerable of our society, the unborn. .........Jesse, you turned this country around from following its liberal sheep attitude of the 60's to the strong Conservative Country that we are now. You fought the good fight you ran the good race. You taught many of us to think before jumping, like lemmings, into the politically correct pool of thought. Thank you Senator Helms for you service to your State and to the United States of America........

"His courage shone most brightly in the three great struggles of our time...The Cold War, the Culture War and the long march to resume American sovereignty into a New World Order of unelected international bureaucracies."

NC Bash.....pictures July 4th Weekend Jul 6, 2008 11:12 am

.....Got some NC Bash pictures for your enjoyment go to picture trail and type in cjc1939 to view her albums .....Oh by the way on the drive back we gassed up in Willamston NC and the gas was $3.69 a gallon. Life is grand isn't it?.....we were back home in about 4 hours. We stopped at the NC State Farmers market for some fresh fruits and Veggies. It was hot and humid outside and was definitely hot on the inside on FridaY night as we were entertained by the sultan of song. I even got to sing my signature song "60 minute man" It was the first time many bash goers have heard it. Why even CJC got up and sang it with me.....The hit of the evening is when the Andrew sisters(Sassy Southern Gal, Roberene, Earth lover) sang "Stop in the Name of Love"...... The day before a group of us met at Builderwomans home nearby and we all drove out to the Outer Banks for a fantastic lunch in Nags Head. After lunch we all split up some went to Manteo some to the beach and CJC and I went down to Bodie Island lighthouse one of the more picturesque on the Carolina coast......Anyway hope you all enjoy the pictures.....
