.......Last night the Democrat majority in the House of Representatives narrowly passed the Failed Stimulus Bill II disguised as health care reform. All I heard from the Democrats last night during the debates were that 36 million Americans will now be able to afford heath care. OK what about the other 10-11 million? Guess they forgot about them. Nothing was said by Democrats that it would be accomplished at the point of a gun either. Forcing Americans to purchase health insurance with threats of fines and imprisonment is not my picture of reform or freedom. I also did not hear from them about fiscal responsibility or unemployment concerns or something minor like lowering a 1.4 trillion deficit we had this year. That's about 4 times higher than it has ever been in our history. In poll after poll Americans did not want this Pelosi version of health care reform.......I am confident that rational thinking persons in the Senate will prevail and a better bill will be forthcoming. Of course with Al Franken, Roland Burris and Chris Dodd anything is possible. Oh and that little document called the Constitution? dont let that stand in your way, your colleagues in the House didn't............

Doing the "Right Thing"..........

.......I have always liked John Stossel. In the early days he was the reporter who would always find some local business doing some sort of shady things to rip off consumers and exposing them on National TV. In the process he garnered 16 Emmys. Somewhere along the line he realized that the misdeeds of business was small potatoes compared to the misdeeds of Government, especially Big Government......
......In his recent article "The Double Standard of Journalist's Bias" he explained his turnaround in reporting and how it affected his Career. By not demonizing business any more the Emmy's stopped and his once favored image as a reporter was in jeopardy. In his own words he says ...."I figured out that business, for the most part, treats consumers pretty well. The way to get rich in business is to create something good, sell it for a reasonable price, acquire a reputation for honesty and keep pleasing customers so they come back for more." ....
.......How true are those words, America owes a deep debt of gratitude to the multitudes of businesses and corporations that do the "right thing" and spur this 15 trillion dollar economy not because of Government but in spite of it. No Country in the world comes even close to us........
........ Our Government imposes the Worlds 2nd highest tax on businesses. Can you imagine what our economy would do if we were the 2nd lowest in business taxes? In a span of only 2 hundred years our free market economy has grown to be the world's largest most innovative and technologically advanced than any other. Why? because of the profit motive enjoyed by Businesses that provide us the goods and services we demand. Lets be honest any tax on business is a tax on us the consumer. Lets tell our elected officials to lower the tax on business/corporations to 25% instead of its current rate of 40%. Lets see how that will "stimulate". Lets see how that will lower unemployment and finally lets see how the consumer reacts to the lower prices on the shelf.........

.......Aside from the World Series, the only thing of interest on the Boob tube was Tuesday's election coverage. I was pleased in general with the results. Republicans won in 2 of the 3 important races. Additionally for the 31st time the Gay/Lesbian gay marriage initiative was defeated by voters. Perhaps Maine is not as liberal as I had once thought. I fail to understand the Gay rights lobby saying they are denied the privilege of getting married. Hog wash they can get married anytime they want, all they have to do is find a partner of the opposite sex and get married........OK back to the subject of this blog. Yesterday the Drudge report released its ratings for viewership of the networks covering the Election.
Fox News Channel 4,043,000 viewers
MSNBC 974,000 viewers
Headline News 842,000 viewers
CNN 826,000 viewers
I find these results stunning. For a network to be touted by the White House as not being a "Legitimate News Organization" is absolutely amazing. How much longer do we, the viewing public, have to put up with MSNBC, HN, and CNN. They need to take their bias and pack up and leave. Their commentators are crude, uninformed and consistently ignore the truth as they spin their hateful liberal trash to an ever dwindling audience.......Go ahead White House keep telling us that Fox is not legitimate. Apparently not many are listening, myself included.

Tales From St Pete..........a Large Time

.....As always the Florida Bash seems to bring out the best in people. Must be the weather or maybe the ocean, but after all is said and done it was the people. We all are different but those differences were in the dumpster outside the Hotel for 4 wonderful days (& nights)......Seems like everytime I said Hi to Rosie Rosie a gargantuan hug ensued. She should have gotten the Hug Trophy. What a charming lady she was. OK 60minman tell us what you did....Well the day of the dinner/dance that morning I got a lap dance from a coonskin cap belonging to Country girl one would have to have been there to see it. That afternoon they decide to have the sexy men leg contest. Not having shorts on I thought I would escape however I was told to pull my pants up and walk the line. Sure glad they didn't tell me to drop my pants. I did walk the line showing my legs but I was no match for Honest Injun for I think he received all the votes. Next came pass the cuke. Here I was with a big cucumber between my legs trying to give it to Meme. She kept telling me to get it up get it up. Seems like that's the story of my life I just couldn't give it to her. It wouldn't go up and she couldn't get low enough.....Next came the plunger toilet roll event. Here I am this time with a plunger between my legs trying to poke it in the toilet paper hole between Memes legs. She kept yelling "slide it in" I said "you've squeezed it shut", she said "push harder" I said "its no use the stick went down"......Finally after two losses It wasn't to enthused about the balloon butt race. Well I at least had to save face so Meme and I were entrants. With a balloon between our butts we got off to a slow start, but with a massive effort we both found a rhythm and finished a close second. Redemption at last.......You know I am so glad that this was a Senior event for I would not want my children to witness the craziness. After years of raising them to be responsible sensible adults they probably would say my god look what raised us!!............

......The St Pete Bash was a rousing success. The attendees were highly motivated and beyond friendly. A huge debt of gratitude for MichiannaRed and the others who volunteered their time and resources to make the 2009 St Pete Bash a memorable event. New friendships were formed and old ones rekindled, a great time was had by all........Now on a lighter note I returned home to North Carolina today to find the OBAMACORN Administration is at it again with their calculator magic. They announced or should I say cheered(VP Biden as the head cheerleader) that because of that great 787Billion stimulus bill passed last Feb., 650,000 jobs were "saved" and/or "created". Now in that so far only $160 billion of the Stimulus bill has been spent the outlook for more jobs looks pretty good some would say......OK 60minman whats wrong with that scenario. Plenty is wrong. I have a calculator too. Mine says 650 thousand saved/created jobs divided by $160 Billion comes out to $246,153. per job. Alas the White House calls that "calculator abuse" because it doesn't show the big picture. Maybe it doesn't but their calculator is a magic carpet ride into more debt and uncertainty for our grandchildren, and their grandchildren, to be saddled with. I was asked not long ago what I would do to solve the "ills" of this Country. Right now America needs a big dose of financial castor oil to put a halt to the runaway spending. The taxpayer is not getting the value for the dollars our government spends......PS the 650 thousand jobs created/saved against the 3 million jobs lost since the Stimulus was enacted doesn't even begin to compute either, maybe I need a new calculator....Think the White House will send me theirs?

The Parable of the "Roll Back"

......Last Thursday on MSNBC Maria Bartiromo was holding an Interview with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Maria asked Speaker Pelosi if the Bush Tax cuts were rolled back(allowed to expire) wouldn't that be a tax increase? A simple yes or no answer was not forthcoming. Instead Madam Speaker replied "That wasn't a tax increase, It is.. eliminating a tax decrease that was there... It was controversial to begin with. It is... a boon to those who have had it for now. But I think that you will see that happen."
......OK lets examine what she said by using the biblical principle of a parable. Lets call it the "Roll-back parable"........OK say your employer gave you a pay raise last year and now has decided to cut your pay. He calls you into his office and informs you that he is going to "Roll" back the pay increase he gave you last year...........
* "You mean you are going to cut my pay?"
* "No I am just "Rolling" back your pay
increase."
* "What? that's cutting my pay."
* "No its not we are just taking away your
last increase."
* "You expect me to buy that? why that's
nonsense."
* "Yes we do."
* " Who in gods name do you think I am?
an Obama voter?"
....Thus endeth the lesson, if you have a better parable for letting the Bush tax cuts expire in 2010 which by the way, cut everyone's taxes who paid them not just the rich, please enlighten me so I can make some sense about what the Speaker meant.....

.......I have written many blogs recently denigrating the Obama administration, and probably will continue to do so. The supporters of the President no doubt take offense and often say so in their comments. I would prefer not to blog about those matters because I held such promise for this man. True I had my doubts about him during the campaign. He was able to deflect many attempts to derail his candidacy of which he deserves much credit for staying on message. I was overjoyed with the cooperation he was getting from the Bush Administration in the transition. President Bush bent over backwards to see that a smooth change of Administrations would occur. I felt his inaugural speech was excellent and he and his Family looked stunning on a beautiful crisp clear day at our nations Capitol. When he took the oath of office I felt an overwhelming sense of pride that we have come so far in America and in my lifetime to elect an African American as President. Much like the Moon landing this event was right up there with things that one didn't think possible really happened. ...........OK 60minman what went wrong? Why are you now so critical and disappointed in such a short space of time? I am of the opinion that when one gives you his word on something he should do what he said he would. President Obama has reversed himself many times. He promises things to every group he speaks to and does not deliver. He has been indecisive and arrogant something he said he would change. As his popularity wanes his supporters blame it on racism. Nothing could be further from the truth. He was not elected solely by black Americans but by all people of all Racial and Ethnic backgrounds. A Mans word is his badge of Honor his bond. Get back on track Mr President. Be another Truman, JFK, Reagan and GW Bush. Be a man of honor be a man of your "Word".

..........Americans are harder workers, more philanthropic, individualistic, self-reliant, anti-government than people in most other countries. We've turned what was an 18th-century 3rd World nation into the freest and most prosperous nation in mankind's entire history.
..........OK how did it happen? I am of the opinion that it was our founding fathers and their infinite wisdom in forging that little document called the Constitution. They all had a deep abiding mistrust for Government. Why else do the words say that Congress shall not: abridge, infringe, deny, disparage, violate and deny. They also included separation of powers, checks and balances and the provisions such as the Electoral College and the requirement that three-quarters of state legislatures ratify changes in the Constitution. They knew if the bill of rights were not added the Government would not allow them own their own.
..........We have a new administration that wants to implement "Change". They have brought to the debate table bailouts, stimulus and health care. The arguments are centered around whether such involvement is a good idea or a bad idea and whether one program is more costly than another. These have no relevance because what should be debated is that such government involvement in our lives permissible under the U.S. Constitution? Somehow many Americans and our elected leaders want to ignore that document when crafting legislation that grows the Government. They could care less what it says or does not say. Government is viewed by many as the all encompassing savior and knows what is best for us. Cradle to grave. Sound familiar? You bet it does because that's exactly what the Plantation owner told his slaves.
......So go ahead my friends be wary of politicians bearing gifts, be suspicious, ask questions. We are losing what's made our country great. Instead of moving toward greater liberty, we're moving toward greater government control of our lives.
....."I do solemnly swear......to the best of my ability , preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.......So help me God"......B. Obama Jan. 20th 2009.

Oh no said Teddy I suppose the next thing your gonna tell me is you gave away the Panama Canal!!....OK lets go back in time again and George W Bush is President. In Afghanistan, more American service members died this past August than in any month since the war began. His top military commander he selected says that without more troops, we run the risk of losing the war. Iran admits operating a second previously undisclosed nuclear facility. Unemployment stands at 9.7 percent, with low consumer confidence. An important domestic initiative — one he campaigned on — faces a likely make-or-break month in Congress. What does President Bush do? He flies to Copenhagen with his wife to personally lobby the International Olympic Committee to bring the Olympic Games to Crawford, Texas.....My oh my times sure have changed instead of being chastised and being called every name in the book President Obama is awarded the Nobel Peace prize. The press is singing his praises and anyone disagreeing with his policies are called racist and not legitimate.......It now seems that National Security is not job one but other issues have taken over....... The picture now comes into sharp focus. Americans voted for President a man who thinks that government creates wealth; that "greed" caused the current economic crisis; that taxpayers should provide health insurance for those who don't have it; that a government-induced housing and financial crisis can only be addressed by more government; that government can more efficiently and profitably run businesses than can the private sector; that "global warming" requires the imposition of job-killing and price-hiking action against emitters; and that government should "spread the wealth" by taking from those who have "too much" and giving to those who have "too little.".....I reaally have a hard time justifying all of this. Am I the only knife in the drawer? I know I have a host of critics but how can you deny facts? I can't do it, can you?..........
