I too lived very close to the Pentagon and could see the smoke from my balcony. My son was working across the road from the Pentagon installing auto windshields onsite when the plane hit. I could not reach him for five hours because the communication lines were clogged. It was a day of horror and tremendous grief for much of the world, and all too real and close to home for many.

Lest we forget.....

A friend of mine was on the 18th floor, working. Iris is in a wheelchair, a very costly one. Two coworkers carried Iris and her chair down 18 flights of stairs to safety.

She was lucky.

Foto Friday has absolutely nothing to do with remembering 9/11 - nothing whatsoever!!! To even suggest that it has is ludicrous.

You obviously did not sit in front of a TV today watching endless photos of suffering and destruction, you were here, in the blogs whining that we who posted photos of trees weren't remembering the way you thought we should. How should we have remembered... should we have all pasted our 'favourite' horror photo, would that have made 'you' feel better. What you suggest is a gross injustice to every member who posted today, as well as every American who went to work, went shopping, went to a movie, or did anything other than get off their knees, and I would suggest you rethink your opinion and apologize cuz buddy you are way outta line.
