Good blog, MrsJoe. To be young hearted is what counts. Enjoy the bash.

This was a wonderful post that should inspire those with physical issues and those without, Pat. There are definitely people with limitations and others for the most part are accommodating to their needs. I'm not surprised that Bill made the effort to come over to visit. He's a sweet man. Spunky's courage was no shock either. We get a good sense of a person's character by their blogs and comments. I wouldn't have expected to hear anything different. I hope that both you and Joe are happy that you went to the bash.

Well said mrsjoe and pleased to hear you're both enjoying yourselves in a manner that suits each. What a kind gesture on thatbillguy's part to make a point of visiting your husband Joe in his room and great to hear SpunkyLady lives up to her name - let the party continue, lol :- )

Hi Pat...what a thoughtful blog you wrote about people with physical disabilities. I think about that many times. Although I am able to still do many things I realize those days are numbered as we age. I read Spunky's blog in which she told her problems at the airport when she was visiting her friend. I truly admired her spunk and she is able navigate around being a blind person. You and Joe are to be commended in driving to Nashville to the bash even though you are limited in what you can do. I find travelling on airlines is now such a big chore. It truly is too bad the airlines aren't giving you the assistance and in particular elderly people.

Hi Pat: What an inspiring blog. I'm so proud of Mr. Joe and Spunky and anyone who is there at the bash in spite of their being in pain or disabled. Wishing everyone has a great time and posts lots of pics.

I have been curious about bashes since I first heard them mentioned, and you have pretty much answered a few questions I had about them. I really wanted to go to this one, but my order of baby chicks came in on the 18th, so there was no way I could leave, plus I need someone here to take care of all the animals, 65 in all.

Any bashes going on in August? I would love to meet you and Mr Joe and some of the others mentioned here.

Love your blog Pat and I also love how everyone looks out for each other, thank you for sharing this with us. Have fun!!

Good thoughts. Chuck and I travel a lot even when his health issues were at their worst and found people mostly bend over backwards to accommodate even though we usually decline help (stubborn old farts).

When we were in Mexico a man our age offered chuck his seat when he saw he was having trouble handling standing on the bus. Of course his pride kept him from accepting. Then the man said he insisted pointing out that if Chuck fell he could hurt others as well. That put things in a whole new light for me. Now I accept help out of consideration for others. A prime example taking advantage of pre boarding at the airport. After the situation on the bus in Mexico I realized that things like this are for the benefit of others as well as the people needing the services.

I find myself explaining this often and encouraging others to swallow their pride, put away their stubborn independence and make things easier for everyone.

Great blog & your comments, Pat! Thanks for posting this.

For those of you who haven't met Mr & Mrs Joe, you're really missing out on a memorable occasion in your life. I met them in FL awhile back and found them to be the most delightful and personable of of almost anyone I had ever met!!! I look forward to perhaps meeting up with them again one day.

Good blog, mrsjoe. I am glad that you and Joe have travelled far and wide. Travel broadens the mind because the things you see and experience make you realise a lot of things and, you are right.: If you want to do some thing bad enough, nothing is going to stop you. The other truth is a lot of people do not wait to cross the bridge when they come to it. They are so negative they won't even go near the bridge!

ps. Perhaps now you will understand that, even after 38 years, I am still trying to strike the lottery. It is because I want it BAD and nothing is going to stop me.

It was great to see you and that sweet Mr. Joe!

Several of us discussed the dissing of a SFF Bash or get together. Too bad those same people can't or won't attend one...boy would they change their minds! Fun is the first word that comes to mind

It is amazing how close we have become, the more all of us are together. We compared it to FAMILY. We truly have all become "family" and our family keeps growing the more Bashes and get togethers we have. We gained several new sisters and brothers this time didn't we!

Meeting Spunky was really special and so wonderful How can you not fall in love with her and Vera Wag, her seeing eye dog!!!

Spunky was very upfront about any questions we had about her being blind. She sure is a SPUNKY LADY!!!

It's also very difficult for those of us who have addiction issues.

I fear to attend because I don't want to be where my drugs of choice are being consumed in copious quantities.

My sobriety coach would not approve my attendance either.
