All I remember is what crazyhorse1946 wrote. It starred Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy and he drove her around. Sorry Pat.

Thanks for posting something non-political, I for one really appreciate it.

Mrs Joe, do you remember what year it came out?

    Quoting  :

I have been thinking about this movie, but like you I cannot come up with a name for it. Still thinking and if it comes to me, I'll be back with the answer.

mrsjoe, I agree with that the classic film Sunset Boulevard might be the one you have in mind. It's an excellent film produced by Billy Wilder (back then he was billed as William Wilder). MrRichard and I watched that on DVD only last week. It was a wonderful movie.

I had meant to say, "agree with Coney Island Babe."

Mrs Joe...I think the film you are recalling is Candleshoe. David Niven plays the butler. one of my favourite comedies.

On the off chance u may recall the plot a bit incorrectly, might you be thinking of Pocket Full of Miracles with Betty Davis and Glenn Ford?

That one had Glenn Ford and others propping up the image of a homeless baglady to protect the image her long lost daughter had always held of her.

Anyway, now I'm gonna be wondering about this all night! LOL!

GBU,

Gavin

Sorry.... looks like Candleshoe is the British version of the same story.
