Well Folks, Im sitting here, 7 o'c pm in Ireland, gloomy and wet, and dark, and Im STARVING TO DEATH.Tomorrow is D day for me. I have to get up and go to the Torture Chamber for my test. I was having a lovely deep sleep this morning, dreaming of counting lashings of money, when the phone rang and my gorgeous man said "Good morning my love, wake up and take your medicine"! Well folks, everything changed after that.Downhill from there. No money, I realized what day it was, and I prepared myself for a day of giving myself a good clear out, and starving myself to near death. So far, I cheated once. I was told I could have BLACK TEA!!!!! Black Tea is something the Irish take when they're making a pilgrimage up the Lough Derg Mountain to gain some salvation for their souls in the next life. Well, Im not going on a pilgrimage, so, Im sorry to say I put 2 spoons of the most beautiful sugar into my tea, and Im beginning to feel slightly human again. My darling Len, sent me a txt at 1.45. TO TAKE MY SECOND DOSE OF POISON !!!!!! which I took. I cant stop looking at bananas, ham, even dry bread would be scrumptious, and every time I turn on the TV its full of advertisements for food, drink, chocolates, cakes, and the Lidls supplement that came with the daily paper is full of Christmas Goodies, Cakes, Wine, ORANGE, God I'd love some orange. Enough said, Im off to pack my bag, I know how the inmates on Death Row feel, I have great empathy with them all tonight. Whoever organized this regime should be shot. NO FOOD ON THE DAY PRIOR TO THE TEST. I'll probably faint when I get there and they'll keep me in for weeks. Im laughing or I'll cry. (with hunger). Remember me tomorrow folks, I'll try and keep laughing, even through the horrors and indignities I will HAVE TO SUFFER. Cheers folks.

I get to do that test in January. Seems they've found a 'little black spot'. Since I'm moving at the end of the month, I decided not to worry about it. I'm too busy. But I've had that poisen before and the preparation is almost worse than the test itself!
Glad you are smiling again!

Robyn, by the time you read this, your test will be over and just a memory. It really is a sign of taking care of the self, so I'm happy that you did it--and you will be glad, too. once it's all done.

Robyn5 replies on 11/3/2009 4:24 am: Hi Teresa, You know Teresa, it was because of all the encouragement I got from this site, and Len, that I decided not to be such a coward and go and get the news, good or bad, and it was good, Thank God. I actually felt guilty telling my sister I was in the clear, because she is having treatment (today). She rang me the minute I got home. Her health is not as good as it was, but Im hopeful. Enjoy the bash! |

Robyn5 replies on 11/3/2009 4:17 am: Hi blackpool, I was so anxious when I got there, that I almost forgot to ask if I had cancer or not. The nurses were great and one of them showed me the result, I was so sure I had cancer that I was making up the hymns for my funeral service!! How mad is that. Today I have a different outlook on life. Thanks blackpool. |

Oh Robyn, I know EXACTLY how you feel.... Picture this... Joe and I had ours on consecutive days... so the day that he took his "poison", I could still eat, and the day that I had to take mine, he was eating everything in site to make up for his day of hunger. LOL...
Prayers with you.... and give us the good news as soon as you get home.... AFTER you eat something, that is.

Robyn5 replies on 11/3/2009 4:16 am: Hi mrsjoe, Im laughing here at you and Joe. I had the whole procedure magnified in my mind to such an extent that it was not half as bad when I got there. The day before, well, you know about that!!! The procedure, not bad, not great. The verdict, GREAT. |
