SOMEWHERE, OVER THE RAINBOW

Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high
Birds fly over the rainbow, why then oh why cant I.

I wish!
This appeared during the week, around 2pm, one rainbow over another. Our weather is very unusual for Ireland, today is warm and sunny, and we went out without coats.

Robyn your right this week its an indian summer for sure ~ Blackpool is buzzing like the middle of summer as thousands visit to see the Blackpool Illuminations

its pleasant enough to walk amongst the tabloid Illuminations in just a light sweater ~ it wont last but it is fantastic , this time last year it was snowing and icy

love the rainbow picture ~ you must be quick to capture a shot like that

Hi Robyn.
Rainbow looks lovely, the climate changes all the time, we may be going back to more normal climes of the 60's and 70's. A bit more rain and wind nice humid days and warm dry summers.

Hi jimbob, At this rate we will be able to cut down on heating bills, we havent had any heating in the house for ages. Long may it last, I remember weather like this!!! when I was 20

Robyn,

Thanks for sharing your double rainbow. A single one is beautiful enough, but a double is double pleasure. It is a marvel to me and I love them.

Nice blog !

Hugs,
Peg

Hi Peg, I agree, a double is double pleasure, and I remember that day we experienced sun, light rain, sun, rainbow with funny looking sky, and so it continued. What does one do on a day like that? Watch the rainbow and sing!!!!

Hi lovethecoast, I was delighted to share it. A lovely shining light coming into Winter. In Ireland, when a rainbow appears, we all run to look at it still, even at my age. The kids love the rainbow. Some things dont change.

Hi Lou, It might be climate change, the weather we are having must have something to do with climate change. Hot today, or else Im running a temperature!!!!!

I love double rainbows Sometimes I stop and just look at them, especially when they're over the ocean, or there's a panorama involved.

Hi sleepwalk, Do you do a lot of sleepwalking? Just joking. My sister was always walking around at night!!!! The rainbow is special, one of Gods gifts to the world. They are so unusual and different, depending on the colour of the sky. This cheered me up and even looking at it today, I feel cheerful.

Awesome shot....I love those scribed circles, layers of gray and rainbow........WOW!!!

Robyn5 replies on 10/29/2009 3:46 am:
Hi starphysh, I loved it too and it is awesome. They dont usually stand out so much, but the dark sky helped to show the colours. Do your grandkids sing the rainbow kids song, red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue!!! Just inquiring. I hear it a lot here in the afternoons

Thanks Robyn for sharing....it is beautiful...we don't see double rainbows here or at least I haven't. Once I saw the end of the rainbow right in the middle of an airport runway. My friends wouldn't let me check it out for the pot of gold. Bummer.

Robyn5 replies on 10/29/2009 3:42 am:
Hi Barbe, You missed out on that pot of gold! I didnt get it either. I think the leprechauns play games with us all

Great picture. The double rainbows are not as common but are sure gorgeous.

Thanks for brightening the place up a bit.

Isn't PEACE a wonderful thing?

Robyn5 replies on 10/29/2009 3:41 am:
Hi MTNMPM, I love the rainbow too. Was hanging out the back door singing the song!!! The sky went much darker later, also the trees, and the rainbow remained for awhile. Maybe its climate change. I thought this double rainbow particularly good. I did the lotto then but no wins!!!!

Beautiful photo...

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence...

Hi shadowrider, Im glad you enjoyed the photo. We get rainbows quite a lot, but with the colour of the sky it looked particularly good.

Hi RRH, I can hardly believe the beautiful weather we are having. It gets dark quite early but the sun has been shining here all day. The day of the Rainbow was wet and sunny. I love that song Over the Rainbow too.
