I feel grateful for each day I can get up and see the changing seasons. Spring/ Summer, were always my favourite times, but now I have come to realize that the beauty of Autumn is special. We have so much to look forward to, the beautiful colours of the changing leaves, green to rust, yellow and then no leaves at all. We are expecting gales and wet weather in Ireland next week but up to now, and for the past few months, we have had no rain at all. Imagine watering the plants in Autumn. I have just been out for a walk with my daughter and the 3 dogs. Well, the dogs had a ball, they met all their "pals" of different shapes and sizes, they all greeted each other, and I met a neighbour who stood chatting for awhile. I had a chance to share some things with my daughter and she with me. We spotted a little long tailed tit having a bath in the stream, we stood watching this procedure for awhile but unfortunately hadnt got the camera. The trees are beautiful, the ground is beginning to be covered with leaves, and we have Halloween and Christmas around the corner. As the recession has effected Ireland as a whole, except for the wealthy politicians!!!! the mad rat race will not take place this year, and for that I am grateful. My Christmas shopping will be done in the Two Euro Shop, where everything costs around Two Euro or a little more, but no exorbitant prices. Our local town has been badly effected by the recession and we have been told we wont be having any Christmas lights this year. All these things are really unimportant. To be grateful for where Im at, the simple things in life are the most important, and gratitude for my life as it is now, is a nice place to be today.

Hello Robyn
It is a nice photo, but that photo is one that came with my computer and it is my desktop photo. I have doctored it up and added more branches and leaves. I made sure the glare from the sun didn't obstruct some of the icons I use for my programs.
The golden leaves still have the sun shinning on them and the photo covers my 17 inch laptop display.
I think most everyone thinks you took that photo.
Snoopy like the autumm colors.

Bye for now! Thank you! .♥. ♫ ♥ ♫ ♥ DENVER ♫¨♥ .♫ ♥ ♫

Maybe Shirley could visit as well and run in the stream with my 3. My daughter took the shot, she is always carrying around her camera. I love it too. |

Lovely scene and great capture of the colors and the rays of the sun! Autumn is lovely here but much colder than normal and lots of rain. Frost yesterday caused so much weight on the leaves of my birch and maples, they dropped like a huge snowfall in one hour! Today I get to blow and rake - out to the curb for city pickup. Then there will be more and more - sigh and then the snow. I will enjoy every precious day I can see color before black and white and gray becomes the landscape until March.

Robyn5 replies on 10/21/2009 4:28 am: Hi winkay, Did you say frost No frost yet but it will come. I agree about the grey and dreary days of winter, and January to March is a pretty bad time here. Still, I just live one day and am grateful to be above ground!!!! |

Autumn was always my favorite time of year, except that is is followed by WINTER... brrrr. Our weather here has been rather odd all year... a long WET cool spring kept the crops from getting planted until late. Summer was cooler than usual, with a good amount of rain, so the crops grew fine although they ripened later than normal, but now, we are having cold rainy weather, which is preventing the harvest. The trees are just not starting to show their colors, but with all the rain, they may not retain their leaves very long.
Oh well, the weather is something beyond our control, so I just enjoy what I can, when I can. Your picture is beautiful.

Robyn5 replies on 10/19/2009 3:32 am: Hi mrsjoe, The weather seems to be all over the place. I couldnt believe what I was reading here over the months about the weather. While we usually have rain, spring summer autumn and winter!! we have had none this year, not any worth talking about. I am watering my bamboo plant and some others that look as if they need rain. Im not complaining, the winter is long and cold. |

Hi Robyn. Do like the pic, the trees turning leaves shedding, do miss that. We dont have much of the old autumn colours over here.

Robyn5 replies on 10/18/2009 12:48 pm: Hello Jim, There are lots of beautiful autumn colours here at the moment. I remember seeing them up in Co. Donegal before, but it must have something to do with the changing climate all over, the trees on our road and all around Co.Wicklow are just beautiful. Im sure you must miss that. |

Autumn is a beautiful time of year no doubt. It's cool and crisp and I love the sound of the leaves blowing across the land. The colors are spectacular. October is so much nicer than dreary old November.
I was afraid that with your title of this blog that bad weather had come to Ireland. I'm glad it didn't. We've heard about the recession over there--as everywhere, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Autumn is my favorite season! Gorgeous picture!!
We had a cold miserable day yesterday. Went to a place called Lockerly Arboretum for their Fall Festival. It started raining on the way. We got there and saw people huddled under their umbrellas so we drove on....Alfie said let's go to The Pickle Barrel for a sandwich. It is a sports bar and restaurant. Got there and they were putting letters up on the marquee saying...Closed. I looked over at a group of people standing under the roof covering the entrance. There had been a fire that morning and gutted the inside. We went somewhere else for a sandwich then came home and relaxed.
Today it is gorgeous! Sun is shining and it is 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

Robyn5 replies on 10/18/2009 12:50 pm: Hi Ann, That sounds like a nightmare of a day. Still, you made the effort to go out I know we have been threatened with rain and gale force winds next week so that will bring down the last of the trees I expect. Lovely for walks tho' and the kids and dogs love running through the leaves. So do I!!!!! |

Autumn is grand isnt it? nice photo... Lots of the states have already been hit with some fridgit rain and SNOW! brrr,,, them guys in the world series and the fans were all bundled up! Kind of strange to see a baseball game with this type of weather...
Glad I'm living in so california , right about this time of year... had a 90 degree (farenheit) day here yesterday, , that might be about +35 in celsius, or close to it... Christmas just aint the same without the lights,, but look at it , this way, you and Len can get cozier , ya think?
Robyn5 replies on 10/18/2009 12:53 pm: Snow, You say you had snow!!! I'd love some snow. We rarely get in anymore. I was watching forest fires yesterday on TV I think in Australia. Also I think they were started maliciously. Yes, you're right the winter days are great for getting cozy, with Len but I love the Christmas lights. Howya doin????? |
