It's time to lie to ourselves.

Tonight is the night we all lie to ourselves. We set our clocks one hour fast. We are told that we will have one more hour of daylight. To find out if this was true, I set my clock ahead 12 hours. I should have had 12 more hours of daylight which would give me daylight around the clock. And by doing it 12 hours instead of one, my clock has the same time. The only change would be the AM or PM. But then we could do it for 24 hours instead of 12. That would take care of the AM_PM thingy. But then, it would be tomorrow instead of today. Humm, might not be a bad idea, Keep doing it till we are way in the future. Sadly, I did not get 24 hours of daylight. It stayed the same with a tiny variation due to the sun's path of rotation. Our government has lied to us and now we must lie to ourselves. Makes me think our government is run by politicians.

 I think we have the whole DST backwards these days. In Franklin's original concept, the extra hour during late spring through the summer would allow farmers to plant later in daylight and for those early harvests to be gathered.

We no longer live in that agrarian society. Instead, we live in a society hooked on fossil fuels. We should run DST during the winter, where that extra hour of sunlight might be used to save energy.

 I love the fact that we get longer evenings!!!!

In western Ontario, we're at the edge of a time zone so get kind of a double DST..... Yippy!!!

 Thanks for the reminder about the time. I just set my watch on my wrist so tomorrow I will atleast be in sync. The rest of the house clocks can live in the past till I get around to it. Maybe the Ghost will fix all of the rest of them all for me.
